We are steadily moving towards the zenith of the year. It is dusk at 21.21pm in Suffolk, and for the next few nights that time will be a little later every night. That has to be a good thing, yes? It is a shame that the weather will not currently support an outdoor evening but even so I appreciate the longer hours of daylight. Yup, I'm getting old! DD

I'm with you on that one DD. Sorry to say, by the end of this month, the nights will begin to "draw in" again!

    I really don’t know, DD.

I love this time of year with its light evenings (especially in Scotland) Twenty/20 cricket, sitting outside with a bottle & Mr SW (not necessarily in that order).

But I also love spring’s promise – all the bulbs bursting into colour and then trees and bushes that you barely notice for the rest of the year suddenly becoming a riot of blossom.

I love autumn’s colours and the way you really appreciate good days then as you know there won’t be many more.

Then winter and snow and Christmas and mulled wine and icy, clear light.

    It’s all good.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I've been thinking about it, the really short days are not that many in number, the clocks go back in late October, 21 December is the shortest day and then the world turns round again. Each season has its merits but I think we are losing the 'definition' of each time of year, Bill Bryson once described living in the UK like being in Tupperware for nine months of the year, i.e. grey and drippy. He's right. DD

I'd be quite happy with sun all year round :D
Winter is very pretty for photos though I must admit.
