Hi Guys
Over the last few days I have had a bit of a problem with my upper left arm/ elbow.
It has begun hurting when i type and when I try to lift anything........even very light things........seems to be when I have the elbow bent slightly or grip to lift something and the pain is kind of "jabbing".
My wonder is this.........could it be OA related as I broke the radial bone on this elbow some 12 or so years ago.........but have never had any problems since it came out of plaster.
Or is it probably just strained muscles?
I've tried the old rest, alternating ice and heat methods.........nothing is helping at the moment.
I don't fancy yet another trip to my GP if i can avoid it! ;-)
Any theories? xx

O dear... sorry to hear your troubles....
You could try NHS direct by phone for advice... they might put your mind at rest... If not, then it's off to the GP....
Good Luck....xxhugs freesia xxx0 -
i had this a lot. i even did physio and hydrotherapy for it. i was previously told to do windmills with my arms.
turns out the cervical vertebrae & shoulder joints are crushing my brachial nerve, which is like the sciatic nerve of the neck & arm.
not saying you have this but dont get fobbed off like i did. the windmills i was told to do, which i could not do, would have caused serious damage, had i been able to do them.
good luck0 -
Julia many years ago I had a tennis elbow.....never played tennis... :? but there you go...it was, so they say caused by the way I held it when at work...I was packing and it was very repetitive....anyway I was offered an injection....and yes it did the job...I just wish the hip and back ones would work the same....Love

I sympathise but we are not doctors - we know a little about lots and lots about little but we cannot diagnose and it's wrong for us to try. I suspect you know the answer - it's GP time again if things don't ease. You are trying the right things to help yourself but if it doesn't get better then it's time to tread that well-worn path. Take care. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I've had elbow pain due to the arthritis and it was a horrible one that made me feel sick. I don't know what's causing yours but I'd get it checked out (I know, I hate going too) because, if we were to 'diagnose' you wrongly, we could give you 'remedies' that would make it all a whole lot worse. Sorry, I know it's not what you want to hear.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

if anybody can benefit from my mistakes in getting proper diagnosis and treatment : keep going to the doctor, keep pestering them. it is YOUR health after all. i got told i did not complain enough about all the things that happened to me. i felt i was always at the doctors so almost stopped going for every little thing. BIG mistake and ended up in the mess i am right now.
i dont envy the life of a GP sitting there all day listening to people complaining about things, but it is after all what they train and get paid for!0 -
thanks guys............appreciate you cannot diagnose........was just after opinions........ :-(
and the avoiding the GP thing is mainly beuase every time he see me in pain the answer is to sign meoff work sick! :-(
i will make an appointment with him anyway
ttfn and thanks xx0
