ESA assessment tomorrow

I've been on Incap benefit since 2007, mostly for mental health issues. I also get DLA but am about to have it reassessed to add in my current mobility problems.

Anyway, tomorrow I have the dreaded appointment, to swap from IB to ESA. I'm absolutely bricking it. This sort of thing always makes my anxiety go through the roof, but I WILL NOT let them bully me into a relapse :x

Pain is flared up at the moment, partly from me (rather stupidly, admittedly!) climbing a hill on crutches to watch a Jubilee beacon being lit, and partly from stress as we're currently house hunting and have this Atos thing hanging over our heads. I know they will expect me to do things to show what hurts, so I am anticipating a bad few days afterwards

I wonder if 'they' realise how much power they have over peoples' lives :?:

I know that I am fortunate in that I have been able - so far - to avoid this malarkey and thus cannot help but I do wish you well for tomorrow. DD

PS There is a thread (posted earlier today by dorcas) about moving from IB to ESA, it may be worth your reading it - she's a thorough and knowledgeable lassie, our dorcas.
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

I hope it goes well, too. Please keep us updated.

Thankyou for the support, it is much appreciated.

The woman was nice enough but the questions were humiliating and the assessment was painful. I did refuse to crouch down as I know that reduces me to tears and I get stuck crouched down, so I just said no I couldn't do it. My husband was brilliant as usual.

    Now the wait begins...

On the plus side, we have found a new house to rent (we have been given notice as landlady wants to move back in to this house)
