I did it this morning, with some trepidation and a huge amount of resentment and temper. Have pain levels reduced? No, because it doesn't work for OA and that is a big problem in my knees and ankles. Am I a more comfortable Daisy? Well, a little as the PsA was biting all over and now it's just the OA distress, plus the crunchy neck and numb hands. Am I moving better? Yes, without a doubt and I am sure that helps matters. One cannot have everything and I must better appreciate the slender benefit this drug (combined with injected meth) offers me. What I want is neither here nor there, yes? I have to make the best of what I have. It's not rocket science, I have to grow up, that's all. DD

Hey, I see where you're coming from.

Here at Dummies R Us (Take that in whichever sense you prefer) we have patented the superyoyoguidedboomerangrubberdummy. You spit it out, it aims itself at whoever you are most annoyed with at the time (Caution - don't spit it out if you've just done something stupid yourself), clobbers them harmlessly but satisfactorily then bounces straight back so that you can re-start.

Discounts available to all AC members.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I am pleased to be moving better too Joan, I have to say. This will last for five or six days so I am determined to enjoy it as best I can! As for the coping, well, there are some on here who are far worse off than me and some who are far better but that matters not: we all struggle, one way or another. Right, work beckons, that means money - hurrah! DD

    Hi DD,

Hmm, 'slender benefit'? Maybe I'm a little bit stroppy, but I've never settled for that in the context of injecting pretty hardcore treatments. How's the latest bloodwork? Does it present a case for a medication review?

My consultant just adores me, by the way

    Best wishes,

DD, I have moments where I throw my toys out of the pram with meds. Our life is tough, its little things that make it unbearable or bearable.

    (((hugs)))

Hello phoenixe, it's lovely to hear from you. Being able to move around a little better for a few days is the sum total of the benefit, so yes, I term that 'slender' (I know, I'm an ungrateful cow) but it's better and longer-lasting than I had before from the infliximab and enbrel so that is a good thing - or so I keep telling myself. The bloods on this drug are superb, not reflected in how I feel but hey-ho, we cannot have it all! My bigger problem now is the OA (caused by the damage from the Psa). The PsA meds don't touch that - as I said, we can't have it all.

It is tough Suzy, I won't deny it. I try to keep on top of it all and be cheerful but, to be honest, it was lovely having a month off the H and a couple of weeks meth-free. I nearly felt human. I hope you feel better soon - this damned weather is not helping is it? Take care. DD

    Hello again DD,

It seems we are in the same boat, alas. Not that I mind your company, of course, but I'm sure we'd prefer a more streamlined sort of vessel! Thanks to Enbrel my bloods are good too, but years of ineffective drug trials have led to OA in addition to PsA, so the pain continues nevertheless, dulled by ibuprofen and co-dydramol. Distraction is everything :P

    Best wishes,
    Phee
