ESA decision made - or not??

I rang today to chase up the ESA decision letter that I was told 20 days ago I would get within 2 weeks.
The original phone call said that I had not been successful in my claim and had to go on JSA. This really upset me as I posted at the time.
I was told also that I had to wait for a confirmation letter before I could appeal.
Today I was told that no decision had been made and there was nothing on the computer to say a letter was being sent out. "You are still getting paid so a decision cannot have been made" was the answer when I said that someone had rang and told me I was to be refused it.
Yes, I got paid fully (2 wks @ £71 pwk)) this Friday.
Now I am totally confused.
Has anyone else had all this hassle and confusion with them?
I just don't know who or what to believe any more.
Has anyone managed to ring the actual decision 'office' and not just speak to a telephonist? If so what number do I ring?

I had a similer problem when I was ringing them..in the end I asked to speak to the department that makes the decisions and they rang me back within 3 hours.

it maybe worth you trying that.
