Hi...thought i would write this to clear up a comment i made on Dorcus's thread...i have given this reply on there aswell

pre-1995 Incapacity benefit was known as invalidity benefit,after a period of time on this you went before a 'panel' of experts and they decided if you were ever likely to work again...if not you were medically retired and your benefit was made up of contributary pension...plus other added elements......In 1995 when Incapacity benefit came in those on invalidity benefit were moved onto it but their status of medically retired, along with their tax status ....their 'benefit' wasnt counted as income for certain things...was mentained....This is not being honored as they now get moved over to ESA....Hope this clears up what i was talking about....
