this is prob a bit long winded but worth a go. I was diagnosed with PA in 2007 at the age of 24 since then my arthritis has rapidly gone down hill at first it didnt really effect my life but now it does its effects every bit of my life i cant go out without thinking wether there will be seats to sit on etc cuz my back and legs end up sore if i stand or walk for too long and my hip seems to just stop moving. im now on my 3rd meds and using mtrx which isnt working and my consultant has put me thru for biologics which im still waiting to hear about. this is my 2nd time in for this treatment as the nurse didnt do my assessment properly and i failed so ive been waiting months to hear and been ringing and ringing the hospital and no one gets back to me.
anyways does anyone know if i would get dla if i put in for it. i work but as i cant walk very far i drive to work and it costs me a fortune in parking and im struggling to get my windows up and down espically in the mornings when im sore as i have wind down windows??

Hi lorballs,
On its on it wont mean dla but it depends on what it does and ho it effects you as to if you would get it. Might be worth seeing and in the hope that someone else knows more about it than me am bumping this back up. Nice to meet you. Cris x0 -
Ah, who knows if you will get it? Many people apply and many of them are turned down on the intial try, then they go to appeal and sometimes they win. Which part are you thinking of applying for? There is the care component and the mobility part and the only way you will find out if you qualify or not is to apply. I wish you well and let us know how you get on, yes? I have PsA (psoriatic arthritis) which has led to OA, I've been on crutches since 2002 and and have now graduated to a rollator ~ woo-hoo! If you are after a Blue Badge for parking then you go about that by contacting your local Social Services, you do not have to be in receipt of DLA to have one of those. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
