Total Hip Replacement Surgery - Friday 13th !!

Ive got date for my THR - Friday 13th July - I had to laugh !! Dont think things can get any worse so not bothered by the date.
Im lucky as my surgeon offered to do the operation at the private hospital with NHS paying as he works at both & NHS list is so long at the moment in my area. He said they often do this to help out the NHS for younger patients who are really bad as they tent to be up & out fairly quickly.
Im really nervous, never had an operation before , but happy something is being done at last. It has taken ages to get to this point as all my pain was in my back as it isnt a classic hip problem & I was treated for a bad back for months by my GP before being refered anywhere.

I'm sure it will be fine it's a date just like any other, think of it as your lucky date from where things will hopefully be more improved for you.
It's great that your surgeon is able to do this for you, not sure what the std NHS waiting time is but I bet it's a lot longer than a month.

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement. Its good to read things from people who have actually had the operation done. Im only 49 & no one I know has ever had a THR , so this forum is a huge help to me.0
