Hi
I'm going to be starting anti tnf humaria injections in the next couple of weeks. what i really wanted to know is how quick do they start to work. Do they take a few injections to start working or will it be straight away? I've been on methotrexate for 7 months now which has improved my lower back, but i suffer with fluid and swelling on my knees and lots of pain in my feet and ankles. Does anyone know if this will help my problems. Also because i work on a farm, i do lots of manual work and lots of working. I get tired because of this. Will this improve. It will just be nice to get up in the morning and be able to be pain free and to walk!! Anyone with any ideas please let me know.
Thanks :D

I've been taking humira for a couple of years now and have had wonderful blood results ever since. It is controlling my PsA, together with injected meth and sulphasalazine tablets, but it hasn't been a life-changing experience. For some on here it has and we rarely hear from them now. Hopefully it will for you - every one is different in how soon the meds begin to have an effect, if you have been given this early enough before serious joint damage has occurred then you stand a very good chance of it being the one for you. I hope so because given what you do you need that help! Good luck, let us know how you get on with it, yes? I wish you well. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I think with Humira they say up to 12 weeks to know if it is going to work - although it could be sooner. Unfortunately it's one of those things no-one can tell for sure. As for the tiredness - hopefully if the Humira helps to get the inflammation under control the tiredness will improve as well. I had Humira for a couple of years it worked well for me. I wasn't "pain free" but it did make a huge difference to how I felt - and if I hadn't been "spoiled" by previous success with one of the other biologic drugs I would have thought it was wonderful! Really hope it works for you and helps you to feel better. Please do post to let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the replies. I will definitely let you know how i get on. I was diagnosed with possible PsA in december and i only really started struggling with the pains about a year ago, so hopefully thats soon enough it should work.
