Nodules & lumpy knuckles....? What is it.....?

I have OA in both knees... but recently have noticed these weird lumpy knodules appearing on my knuckles (thumbs & first two main fingers) on both hands...

They are not particularly painful, just a little achey....
Does anyone know what they might be...?
(NB - they are not warts or chilblains)

Thanks for any advice, I'll mention them to my GP on my next check. But don't think they warrant an appointment just for them...?

hi prob oa. but if they warm or swollen might need blood test to look for inflimation??? good idea to mention it to doc tend to take list of all those little things not worth making app for good luck val

My RA started in my fingers - swollen, hot, painful knuckles. My family thought I was making a big fuss over chilblains. If in doubt, get it checked out.

Hi,My hands are the same,the right one being the worst,im afraid its the damage that the ra does to the joints,my fingers are what they call subluxing which means they are turning to the side.I would get them checked out as i dont know if oa does the same thing as ra,,the cold,damp weather affects mine as does a change in air pressure making them very achey. they are noduals its just something that happens with some types of arthritis. However you should show your GP just to be on the safe side.
Mine seem to come and go but i have a couple of large ones on my thumb that can get in the way from time to time.
