I Hate This!

I'm feeling rather emotional just now. Every time I feel my knees hurting a lot I feel worse in myself. Every pain is reminding me, or rather, screaming at me that something is wrong. I'm rather aware that my hips and back are hurting too and when I stand up it takes a few seconds for me to stretch and stand up straight.
I don't know if its all connected with possible arthritis or if I'm just broken like I have been feeling broken for the past year and some, but I'm getting a bit sick of the twinges and pulsing I'm getting today and yesterday.
I think its the weather/low pressure making me feel worse plus girly time of the month is nearing, but I feel so... Yugh!!

Life is just a ride. Up and down, round and around, thrills and chills, very brightly coloured and very loud. But don't ever be afraid, because it is just a ride.

I never kept a record of periods making things worse but I can tell you life is better in some ways since that rubbish stopped. None of us like it, Avrielle, but it is what we have. Over the years I have moved from one affected joint to thirty-eight, and life is a trial, but the meds (and the anti-depressant) do help to keep me on a fairly even keel. Every now and again, however, it does all get too much and tonight happens to be one of those nights. Hey-ho, I know it will pass as all things do.
It's far from easy but we do know what it is like, you are talking to the initiated here. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

There are times when it's just hard to focus on anything but pain, Avrielle, and then it becomes all too easy to think about the potential damage that it's doing. But thinking about it won't make it any less. I use any distraction technique I can - mindless computer games are a plus -and it works for me. I found, after operations, I could delay the next lot of paindullers by quite a lot.
As for the time of the month - I believe anything that raises the body temperature can make RA worse. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Yes, I thought hormone changes can affect it. I was more pointing out that I'm being a grumpy bunny with mood swings just now though!
Distractions are good, but I'm finding it hard to focus or concentrate on anything just now. Like my brain is in a haze...
Oh well...Life is just a ride. Up and down, round and around, thrills and chills, very brightly coloured and very loud. But don't ever be afraid, because it is just a ride.0 -
I'm with Sticky a great believer in distraction therapy.
Just wondered too have you tried Evening Primrose Oil? I was recommended it at the hosp after a mamograph. (my boobs were getting very tender) my gp found a small lump - but all was fine.
I take x2 a day but after a while you can drop to one. The blurb on the container says 'helps maintain a healthy hormone balance' which says it all really.
May be worth a try, they are helping me. I had HRT, but after a year decided it wasn't for me.0
