Hi,
Just wanted to tell you that I'm in for my rituximab infusion tomorrow. I have had it several times before but recently they had problems with putting the line in. It took them 5 times to get it right! I need to remember to be well hydrated tomorrow morning :). I'm not looking forward to spending the whole day in the hospital but luckily my husband will come with me so I will have company, which is great. After tomorrow I will get my next dose in two weeks time again. And what is great, I think that it finally started working! After nearly 2 horrible years...

Good luck for tomorrow Nesia, I hope all goes well. Keep up with the fluid intake and hopefully tomorrow's needle insertion will be better as a result. Please let us know how you get on, yes? DD

    Thanks guys!
I already have some bottled water ready for tomorrow and the lovely nurses in chemo that give me my infusions will bring a bucket with warm water to soak my hands in :D. I will let you know how it goes.

Really good luck tomorrow Nesia. I am on Ritux too so I know how long and uncomfortable infusion day can be.

Will be thinking of you and glad you are beginning to feel the benefit at last.

    Hi all,
Thank you for your nice words and thinking of me. Right now I'm sitting in the chemo department of my hospital hooked to a drip with rituximab. I'm pleased to say that the line went in at the second go, which is better than I expected :). Must be the two bottles of water I drank beforehand. I think I still have a few hour ahead of me here. A bit bored but I have my laptop, my book and my husband with me so it's OK.

Hi Nesia, how did you get on last overnight? I hope you weren't too hyper after to the steroid infusion and were able to get some sleep of reasonable quality. DD

    Hi,
Thank you all for thinking about me.
Yesterday was a very long day for me. The drip was finished only about 5pm. I got home exhausted, with back pain from sitting for so long. I watched some tv and went to sleep ( DD, I slept like a baby :D ). Today I woke up with all the energy from the steroids. I do love the day after... I noticed I'm a bit flushed on my cheeks, maybe it's the steroids or maybe the rituximab, I don't know. I had that last time, too. Anyway, I'm feeling well and the weather is lovely, which is great. I wish myself and all of you more days like I had today.
    Love,

I am so glad you slept well and that today is a good day. It's lovely when they turn up isn't it, and I hope the feeling lasts. Are you going to have the second infusion in two weeks? That should mean another lovely day after - what's not to like! :) Take care and sleep well tonight. DD

    Hello Nesia

Glad the infusion went well and hope you are still on a "post infusion high" today (only not so high you can't sleep!)

    Thinking of you.
