Hi

This afternoon I went to see my GP about re-referring me to the neurosurgeon.

As you will remember I had the C4C5 discs fused in December at a private hospital because I was on the waiting list for 20 odd weeks.
(. An operation that should have been done within three weeks)

I was told by the surgeon who did this op at my post op appointment in February that he would re-refer me for my second operation ( C1 through to C3.. odontoid peg) to my original surgeon.
You may remember a couple of weeks ago I tried to follow this appointment up, with no luck and was told that there had been no letters sent to the surgeon and that I had to go back to my GP.

Well, today I have seen the GP and I have also seen the letters plain as day on his computer that were sent to my surgeon.

Anyway my GP is now going to write another letter and send copies of all the letters that he has received from both surgeons,
as I should clearly still be on that list.

So, it's back to the waiting game, but never mind I'm going on holiday in a few weeks so my mind is occupied elsewhere :D

take care all of you
love Julie PF x

I certainly do remember, Julie. What a kerfuffle that was :!: It seems to me that some secretary (sorry, computer  ) has made a big mistake. Of course we knew that before but, hopefully, with your GP on board, they'll get it right in future. I very much hope so.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Oh Julie...these consultants do tell fibs about not seeing or receiving letters, at my last appointment my consultant suddenly produced a letter from last July saying I should have some more injection in my spine before they do my THRs, the best but was they blamed my GP saying he should have a copy and notified me
Anyway back to you, I know how worried you were about your first op,and Elna was a big help because she had gone through the same, so you enjoy your holiday, and we will get you through the next one.
Are you going in this country or abroad....Sorry I am nosey... :D
    Love

What a palaver, it's not as though you have an empty plate so have time to chase all these things. I suppose one of the major problems with the NHS is that individuals such as you, me and everyone else on here just become part of an amoprhous mass of patients in the view of those who are dealing with us - they cannot be expected to remember each individual and so make the same promises to all. I learned a valuable lesson over my missed referral to orthopaedics, i.e. not to believe the words which are glibly spoken. It's a blasted nuisance tho, I'm not being paid to do the job of those who are.

The ball may well be rolling again - you know we'll be there when needed. DD

Thank you everybody for your kind words and support.

I will definitely let you know when I get an appointment to see the surgeon,as I will most certainly need you in my pocket, this man worries me  not the most sympathetic of surgeons :? (I think he could do with some lessons from the surgeon who did this first part)

Barbara you are not being nosy at all, just curious :lol:
we are going to West Runton, which is bang in the middle of Sherringham and Cromer for a week then down to Lowestoft for five days :D

    thank you all again,
Hope you all have a good day today, :D

Morning Juliepf, how are you feeling about things today? I hope you are a little easier in your mind about it all - focus on that holiday, yes? You are going to a lovely part of the world - don't forget to take a trip to Overstrand, the view from the 'cliff' top is lovely, you can park up and stare 'til the cows come home! DD

    Hi Juliepf,
Computers were supposed to make things easier for information from one dept to another. It doesn't work as you've found out.
You enjoy your holiday and hopefully come back to everything sorted.
Your going to a lovely part of the country. May
