This may seem like a rant but certain things and people are irritating me!!

I have several serious illnesses and have four voluntary jobs and am busy every single day.

People staying in bed until 11.55am on their days off (one of these people has three days a week off!!!) wind me up - if I get up at 7.45am pretty much every day so can they especially as they have nothing wrong with them.

My knees are f****d - got bad osteo in both and I woke up screaming last night.

It's their day off, Pink, the whole point of a day off is to do what you like. They, like you, are giving up personal time to work on a voluntary basis and that is laudable. DD

oh no...............this is a pain in the **** isnt it?

i think in life we have to accept that there are lazy people who feel they deserve their "bed" and those of us who dont. we are all sorts of personality types in this world.

worse is people who let unemployed teenagers get up at noon and do sweet fa towards helping themselves get work college etc.

try making up some cartoon images of these people in your head, in their sloth & then maybe it wont wind you up so much.....if you are laughing you aint crying

sorry pink that you are feeling so fed up and that you are obviously in a lot of pain with your knees.
Try not to let these people wind you up (not easy. I know) but this stress will only make your pain worse :(

Instead hold your head up high and be proud of what you do :D

Hope you feel better soon :)

Pink, I can empathise with the knee pain as mine are playing up. Have you tried the knee wrap heat and ice pockets you can get? Bad description I know, they are quite cheap and really good.

I think you don't appreciate good health and how fortunate you are until it has gone. You do well and are making a good life for yourself despite everything. Don't worry about others.

People don't realise how hard it is to the most basic things when you are living with a chronic disease.

I'm so sorry about the knees, pink. Been ther and done that pre-TKRs.

But, as for other people, what does it matter what they do with their days off? Enjoy your own life. It might not be perfect but it's the only one we have.

    Pink

Im thinking you are meaning people you live with and not people such as neighbours etc? In which case I could see why you think this is lazy behaviour and those telling you "its their life they can do what they want" is all very well when youre not cooped up with them, and youre getting up, doing voluntary work out of goodness of your heart...
Sorry youre in so much pain, maybe you could get some relaxation music and headphones, drown them out?

    Chin up kidda..

    Hi Pink

Sometimes the only thing you CAN do is 'rant'.

Listen you are doing the right thing - getting up is good for us! Doing voluntary work is good for you, and those in receipt of your help.

If you can't let off steam here where can you?

I do hope you sleep better tonight.

    Love

Surely it's not up to us to judge other people. The way you lead your life is just different to the way they choose to lead theirs. They're not harming anyone by staying in bed and they just probably keep different hours to you.

Why should it matter so much if its what they enjoy?

Life is too short, Pink, to waste time and energy getting annoyed if others stay in bed longer than you or not.

Ah right...I still think youre entitled to your opinion....My sister, her husband and their 14year old autisitic son do this and its not cos they work exceptionally hard, its cos they stay up drinking (the lad watching too much tv, eating too much) and its gotten to be a bad habit...I mean its fine if youre jetlagged or ill but any day off is just daft to me..Life's too short to spend half of it sleeping!

I expect the people are really tired and need to catch up. Maybe they've had a couple of bad nights...who knows? Or depressed?

Don't you see that some people could take it that it means them as they might be in bed at that time .............whatever the reason. I think this is a hornet's nest whoever your thread was aimed at.

I think its really harsh of people to insinuate that you are meaning someone in particular, let alone someone on here...You were just letting off steam as others do about people you know and have reason to do so. The comments you are getting here is unbelievable, harsh and not necessary...

I'm sure Pink's rant is innocent, sometimes the way she say's things comes across pretty nasty, I know we stay in touch away from AC and I get crossed wires at the way her text's are typed and I have to ask her what she means and it's just the way she put's things across. So give her a break and don't jump to conculsions on what she types it may sound harsh but she means nothing nasty, she didn't put it across very well! :|

I never thought for one moment her original post was a reference to anyone on here, seeing as how it referred to people Pink actually knows. DD

I can't see anyone claiming she is talking about forum members either only that some members like to stay in bed too and gave their reasons for doing so.
