Phone call this morning from hosp. can I come in July 9th for aspiration on my knee.... only takes 1/2 hr she says.... is that true?
Last time I had it done was I had my knee manipulated under anaesthetic.
I really hope they do find an infection in new knee, then maybe be able to fix me .

If aspiration is where they siphon fluid off, I do remember it. It was a bit like a blood test in reverse. A bit uncomfortable, that's all.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi,
I`ve had it done on several occasions during my out patient appointment. Can`t say that you don`t feel it but its only discomfort and not pain. It`s all worth it in the end when I get rid of the stiffness and pain. A steroid injection in to the joint improves it even more. A lot depends on who does it and if they get the right spot for the injection.
Nothing to worry about!

1/2 an hour? For one knee or two? In my experience the aspiration/steroiding took less than a couple of minutes per knee but it is very important to rest the joint after, especially if a steroid is injected. It is a strange sensation and hopefully you will get someone who is good at doing them. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
