    Hi Annie

I have never had this done - the closest was when a stitch reappeared

I am certain 'they' will have dealt with it before though......I will be thinking of you....is that THIS Friday or next?

    Love

Hello anniek, it's nice to hear from you and no wonder you are feeling nervous. I have not had this done but surely the nerve block should stop anything being too uncomfortable. Obviously it is important to have this 'rogue' screw removed and I am sure all will be well. Do you have someone to take you to the hospital and drive you home? Please let us know how you get on, yes? Take care. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

I had 2 screws removed this year. I had a nerve block and was awake during the operation. It went quickly and the surgeon reduced the scaring around the first operation by simply removing the scared tissue. I wouldn't worry too much.

    Hi anniek,
I have no experience of this, just wanted to say good luck, and I wish you well.
    All the best,

hi I had to have a plate and screws out last year after the plate snapped and it refused to heal despite numerous a/b's inc intravenous, the op was like you a day stay and was no problem at all I had a block and a whiff of something to relax me it must have been good as I felt nothing, its healed but the toe is now left loose as it has no plate or anything to keep it steady even my podiastrist doesnt like to see it wobble the whole knuckle was removed as it was badly deformed by OA good luck but it'll be a breeze I'm sure

    Hi Annie,

Oh that's not nice is it? I got one near the surface and it gets so cold sometimes I can feel the whole thing.

had some removed years back now and its all ok and not too pain full after though its a bit odd for the first couple of days.

Will be in your pocket if you would like and really hope it goes well. Cris x

    Hi
    Glad thats over,
I've got a plate, screws and goodness knows what else in my ankle from an accident.
They were put in 3 yrs ago and i was asked did i want to come back after a certain period to have them removed
I'm chicken and my attitude is ....if they aren't doing me any harm...leave them be
Up to now they've been fine.
If yours were cauing you problems thats different.....I bet you are glad its over

    Love

Glad it went ok :) I had plate and screws removed from my arm a few years ago, it wasn't pleasant but certainly easier recovery than getting them put in
