Hi all,

Well on the 9th june i had my spine injection for my L1/L2 and L3/L4,
it took 24 hrs for the numb to ware off and to be honest my back pain feels worse and i have no change.

Anyway 6 days later my bath seat gave way and i went down like a sack of spuds and my thoracic spine took the brunt of the cold tap and my right hip and thigh took a hit too. So as you can imagine i was stuck and in pain so much i couldn't even cry.

Went to doc's yesterday because of the pain and i have a ring of swelling a foot wide around my middle turns out i shunted my spine like a consitina and put all my muscles into spasm.

So i got diazepam 2mg 3 times a day to go with my other cocktails.

So in summing up be more vigilant when you get a jab in the back i sit on my bathseat like a statue, now when i wash it's like slow motion.

Oh dear, Lexy, that doesn't sound good at all? I hope the damage is only temporary, however painful. Bath's are dangerous places  I remember Poppyg1rl had a nasty cut foot when her bath lift misbehaved and I had a fight with a defunct lift once. I hope the diazepam helps.

Yikes! You poor thing, what caused the seat to give way? I hope it's now cemented into place. I remember when the stool I used to perch on in the kitchen gave way - I ended up in a heap on the floor making a very strange sound! I hope things ease soon. DD

    Hi all,

    Thanks for your kind words.

My swelling is starting to go down Diazepam seems to be helping with that but my pains are still there and i can't walk very far and my speed is a dribble i have to sit more often too and take breaks thankfully i don't have time limits to get to the shop or walk my ruby.

If i don't do the walking i'm scared i'll seize up. Or give up and i can't do that.

Glad to hear you are on the mend. Would it be worth contacting your OT and explaining you are having problems like this with the bath too? Maybe some grab rails would help you??
I'm the worst person in the world for accepting any help, but hate to think of you sinking back down on your back like that.

Well done on persevering, Lexy. I just wonder if you need further expert advice on this ie have you done any more damage to your back and, if so, do you need a Plan B?

    Hi,
I want to thank everyone for your kind words and support,
I have a doc's appointment at 11.20 am today so i shall be haveing a chat with her about my back as it's been 3 weeks and my only difference is the bruising has gone down on my back.

O/T is a good idea we're on the list for a wet room with the council but they have given us a 3 yr wait ( i'm council ) but that's on my husbands needs.

So good luck for me today but i will say i won't be haveing any more injections as this one has made it worse for me and not better!

I'm sorry the injection didn't work. I guess it would have done by now. I do hope you have a profitable natter with your doc. Please let us know how it goes.
