MEDICUR PAIN MACHINE

my oh got me one of these machines and i have religiously used it as stated. it says 3 times a day for 10 mins and you can move in around to different joints. have spent a lot of time with the machine, going from neck shoulders hips back knees ankles etc.
the highest setting on machine is for those with MS. very little instruction with the machine so i phoned their helpline - they say use the red setting and the when its working use the blue as a top up. i said to the woman that when i use red on my neck it seems to give me headache and tinnitus. she says oh no dont use red near your head - duh! but it doesnt say tha i intructions!1
i dont know if this machine is working at all but still i keep using it. they reckon these are widely used within th nhs for superior pain control but nobody seems to have heard of them. they are classed as better by far than tens machines which i did not like at all finding them irritating and useless for any pain i had.
so what i really want to know is,have any of you used this gadget or heard of it? they say you can get your whole £158 if they dont work and apparently THEY DONT WORK ON EVEYONE.
I AM USING IT NOW ON MY SHOULDER and its a distraction as the velcro side is digging into my skin but i am convinced its doing zero for pain. anyone got anything to add to my rather bland experience?

My mum bought one for me a few years ago, she fell for the manufactured blurb despite my telling her it was a waste of time and I didn't want one. 'This marvellous thing has changed my life!' says Mrs S from Sussex but of course they won't print 'It's done **** all for me.' said Mrs B from Berkshire. I keep it in the bedside cabinet, battery removed but I do trot it out when she's here and try not to wince when I move after a 'session'. They may say you can get your money back but how do you prove it hasn't worked? The reverse of how you prove you're in pain? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Haven't heard of these. But I have a massage thingie bought from Ald* a year or so ago, its huge but it buzzes and warms up? Always fancied a massage chair, but it'll have to wait till I get the Lotto numbers right.0

I've never heard of them but I'd be surprised if it does anything. I hope you can get your money back.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

haha yea the woan was very eager to reassure me that you get money back.
thing is, lots of people wear elctromagnetic bracelets etc and say they work
i bought lots of amber beads and rings as apparently used since ancient egyptian times for skeletal problems. when you are desperate for pain relief anything is worth a go. they did have an effect - they caused me complete and utter agony - proved over a few times by taking it off.
amber is electomagnetic - rub a bit and immediately it will attract little bits of paper & strands of hair.
arthur is too much like getting electric shocks without adding to it so i wont be trying amber again.
i do think some alternatives can help in the healing process but see it more as getting the correct minerals absorbed into the body. ive used biochemic tissue salts over decades to great effect at times, but nae luck with arthur as he currently presents.
i am totally against herbal medicines as i have seen soe very drastic aggravations of existing conditions as well as quite serious upset in the body from uncontrolled use. mild herbal teas and things like that are ok but im very cautious in what i dabble with.0 -
Hi,
I have my doubts that it will work
I do hope you can get your money back

'We will probably still refund you' - that hardly inspires confidence. As I said nearly six months ago how does one prove it hasn't worked? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Is it me or is this thread beginning to border on to the sales/advertising pitch? Not sure how appropriate this is on what is essentially a patient forum. I mean, how ethical would it be for a drugs company to come on here and discuss their products in this way?

Just saying
No, it's not you, L.V.
I suspect the intention was to advertise, camouflaged as an attempt to help.
Best wishes,
PhoebePsA (psoriatic arthritis) and other things since 1990. Happy to help when I can :-)0 -
Hi
No its not you LV
I clicked to report it as advertising but someone beat me to it
As for me....why pick on me Mr snowdenhealthcare???
Everyone else said the same sort of thing.
Through experience ...is the answer. Not of your particular machine in my case but most of us have tried all sorts of weird things to start with and have decided if they worked there would be a lot less arthritis

Hi Everyone i am afraid snowden health care is advertizing and as this forum does not allow adverts i have deleted all post concerningthis subject.
