I get this occasionally in my right foot and yes, it flaming well hurts! I don't think there is much to be done, I dug out an old foot roller to try to help 'loosen' things and that has helped a little. It's currently in abeyance which is pleasant but I'm sure it will be back. These things are sent to try us - on a repeated basis. I hope things ease for him very soon. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

Hi, I had this and the physio gave me exercises and a few tips. Use a cold bottled water bottle and run it under your feet a few times as it helps to break up the inflammation.

    Hi Jan,
I have this. My rheumy nurse gave me gel inserts for my shoes. I find they help a lot, it's still blooming painful though!

    Hi,

Ive had PF in both my heels at one time or another!

There are a few things you can do to help yourself, firstly, gel inserts into your shoes, or buy shoes with cushioned soles, check out Hotter shoes, they do shoes for men too!!

Freeze a water bottle, small one, and roll it underneath your foot, backwards and forwards, several times a day.

Stretchy exercises, stretching out the calf muscle, it can help!

It happened to me when i put on some weight!! Unfortunately, my last one lasted 2 years, but did go eventually, but they can go quite quickly too.

When I had it the foot specialist gave me special shoe inserts and a night splint (like a plastic boot thing). It keeps your foot at rightangles to give the tendons or whatever it is that has stretched a chance to heal.
It was quite uncomfortable to wear and many nights I only managed to keep it on until the early hours, but it did the trick after a few weeks.
I am lucky in that it has never come back. (fingers crossed)

Its a horrible thing to have. As far as I know there isn't any cure.
Its odd to read about the bottle of water as this is the only thing that helps me and I thought it was my own bright idea.Mine is worse in my right foot but thats just me as everything seems worse on my right side.
I wear flyflots.....they seem to help but it doesn't go away. May
