Had a bad night last night with bad leg cramps in my calf's they lasted for 10 to 15 minutes each time and even now my legs feel bruised. I wouldn't wish them on anybody.

I called the Dr this morning and he has given me something to take before bed he also re-assured me that it wasn't due to my meds.

Does anyone here suffer from them they are awful just came out of nowhere. I have had the runs for the last few days and the Dr said it may be down to dehydration so am making sure I am drinking plenty of fluids.

When I stand on my legs I feel like I am going to get another attack of cramp, Will be very anxious tonight aswell after the night I have just had.

Sorry to ramble on lol - Hope everyone is doing as well as can be.

    Hi Justin
My hubby got food poisoning a few years ago, and the cramp in his legs were agony ,he said they were worse than the stomach pains.
So your GP is right to make sure you are hydrated...hope they ease up very soon.
I do know that some people take aspirin at night but you would have to check this with you gp.

    Hi Barbara,

I know they were awful even now when I stand on my legs I feel the cramp type pain as if its going to come back. It just came out of nowhere which has knocked me for six as I didn't get much sleep.

I will be worrying tonight - Just hope I don't get any more.

    Hi Justin
Whatever your GP has given you might well have either aspirin or quinine in them, so they should help tonight...and hopefully you will get some sleep..good luck

You poor thing, those cramps are utterly horrid and I know exactly the feeling you are describing. Cramp is a subject that crops up on here every now and again and I remember reading that quinine (as found in proper tonic water, not the diet versions) can help as does potassium (found in bananas). So, chomp a narner and swig some tonic and hopefully things will feel better. I also make sure that I up my salt intake: I don't add salt to anything, nor cook with it, so if I get a blast of cramp I munch a couple of bags of plain crisps. I hope tonight is a much better one for you. DD

Hi Justin. I was suffering with them something awful a couple of yrs ago. The doctor prescribed quinine for me. It really did help but I wasn't happy taking it for long periods of time.
My wife then researched things and found that basic magnesium bought from the shops does the same. It really works for me.. Please check with the gp first though.
I now take one magnesium before bed every night. Not had cramp since I started them.
Hope you find some relief matey..

    Heya Justine,

I get bad cramp in my calves a lot. I have huge calf muscles from being a previous keep fit fanatic and all I can think is that where I now walk so badly the muscle tone has all gone (leaving fat calves  ) with no real substance and they get themselves all knotted up. It's horrible having to do the toe lift to get rid of it tho isn't it? Ouchies!

Hope you get some help with it.
