The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

Thanks, Elna. There does seem to be a lot of research going on currently into arthriris in its various forms. Let's hope something good comes of it.

Jo, Head of Information and Helplines attended an Arthritis Research UK briefing on arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions at the House of Commons yesterday.

Jo has been invited to attend the launch of the report of the first English Pain Summit. She spoke at the Pain Summit in November highlighting the needs of people with arthritis who ring the Helplines.

I am gleaning this information from FB. If I knew how to post a link of this here I most certainly would. Anyone help me do this?

Power to you, Jo and thank you. :D

    Hi Elna
Thanks for this..I did read it and I am so pleased that they are at last doing something to help OA sufferers, wouldn't it be lovely for future generations if they could treat it and stopped the damage.
Good for you Jo..keep up the good work on our behalf.. :D

I've posted about this topic before. There is already a gene related phase IIb clinical trial taking place studying a injectable product that transforms cells by introducing genes that secret the growth factors for regeneration. The transformed cells secret growth factor proteins directly into the injured site. The damaged tissues are regenerated by the manifestation of genes that secret growth factors in the modified cells. Its called Tissuegene-C. I'm interested to find out the results. And will blog as soon as I know. I'm certain understanding which gene's contribute towards OA, then finding a way of turning them off is certainly a direction to explore.
