well while at work today (been doing a few extra hours) knee started swelling could feel it getting more and more pressure in it and pain well glad i took co cods with me do not usually take them while at work. so knew would have to ice it when get home i know it helps with pain so well but it has taken two hours to do it? why do i put it off so much? i know it helps? i know it good for me but always hope will not need to val

    I am just the same :( you are not alone , i even put off going to the doctors .Hope you have iced the knee , and are getting some relief .

    Your not the only one val lol.. I often know that i should ice on swelling but dont, now hot water bottles are use quite alot but ice i do tend to put it off.. You done it in the end so that the main thing.. How is it now? hope it feels bit better for you.x

    I think we're all just born optimists, Val. Despite all the evidence to the contrary we still try to convince ourselves that this time it'll be different....it'll be OK soon......I'll do it if it's no better in another hour....oh **** it, OK. And, lo and behold :roll:

    Heat is comforting. Ice isn't. Does that explain matters? The main thing is it helps and that is what counts. I hope today is a better one for you, valval. DD

    Sticky is right as usual, I think we are all optimists. We are always hopeful that it will miraculously feel better on its own, when sadly that just doesn't happen.

    I was told not to put heat on my knees when they swell as that can make it worse but I have always found the heat much more comforting.

    Fingers crossed you feel better soon and no more flare for a while.

    Val I have 4 wheat bags....I love um...I hope the knees are feeling easer today...like we are all saying the change in pressure doesn't help x

    I keep a couple of those sports instant ice packs in my desk........you just smack them to activate and they dont make anything wet.............i sit with my leg up and the pack on for about 30 mins for it to help!

    hi only did 4 hours today so it much better but doing all day tomorrow on my feet. so might need it again thanks for your messages and yes it is the hope that this time it will be better and not need it lol
