Today we got a letter addressed to a bloke we’ve never heard of but with all our address details correct, including the postcode. We’ve lived here for over 30 years and I think I’d be aware of any Mr SB living with us or even living in our street which only has about 15 houses and we all know each other.

I could simply re-post it saying ‘Not at this address’ but that would be no guarantee that we wouldn’t get any more of Mr SB’s missives and, given that it looks like it might be an invoice, I’d prefer unpaid bills not to be associated with our address. It's in a white 'Mail UK' envelope with a window.

Go to your post office depot and notify them.

If you get more that look like demand letters or anything suspicious then I would open it and phone their number and tell them that they are not at that address.

We had problems with somebody using our address because he used to live at our address but then he was homeless but he was due to be up in court. We ended up getting demand letters for court fees to be paid. We just phoned them up and told them that they do not live at this address and they stopped immedietly.

We also came across the guy who used our address in the street one day and told him firmly that if he ever used our address again without our permission, then he would seriously regret it!
Life is just a ride. Up and down, round and around, thrills and chills, very brightly coloured and very loud. But don't ever be afraid, because it is just a ride.

We have had post for quite a few people over the years, I don't know if they were previous residents of our house. I return the items to the sender. DD

it can happen but you want to make sure no one is using your address for creadit you could end up with black mark against your address i would be tempted to open it and see what it about so you know who to return it to if it some one you deal with it could be they have put wrong name on can happen val

I have returned to sender and written in caps that this person has never lived here and probably never in this street. Thanks all.

We had this happen once a few years ago, it was a bill and we could see it through the envelope so we decided to open it and phone the company it was from and explained it was our address and we where the owners not the person it was addressed to so they said they would change it and asked us to send the letter back to them. It was worrying to think that this could keep happening and we could end up with the debts and we could be black listed! So if it happens again open the letter and phone the company straight away and explain the details are wrong. That's what we will do if it happens again in the future!
