It would seem that conclusions have been jumped to in regards to my joint pains....
Just back from the doctors and he says that it may not be arthritis after all, but tendonitis.
They are still going to treat me and look for arthritis to be sure and rule it out, which is certainly wise, but my GP thinks that it is now more likely to be tendonitis or ligament damage in my knees.
I am really, really sorry to everyone here. I feel so ashamed for using these forums when I may not even have arthritis. You have all been wonderful and friendly and caring and I highly appreciate the responses I have had from you all. You have all helped me a lot.
As much as I love these forums here, despite only being here a short time, I feel I should probably leave now. I'm so sorry to all of you. I feel like I've wasted your time.
Life is just a ride. Up and down, round and around, thrills and chills, very brightly coloured and very loud. But don't ever be afraid, because it is just a ride.

Hey, come on, Avrielle. No apology needed. You used the forum in good faith and, as far as I'm concerned can continue to do so. You may stil have arthritis. Tendonitis is a ****. I spent two days in hospital with it in my hip in January. I did get walking again after a couple of days but couldn't do straight leg raises for near on a couple of months. All OK now though and I hope your knees are the same.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Don't be so rough on yourself - how did you waste anybody's time? You were told one thing and were responsible enough to do what I didn't manage to do for many years, you went and were brave enough to ask others about it and offer others support because you have offered support, don't forget that, you gave to others too.
I think it is just great news that you might not have arthritis and I don't think that you are some arthritis cheat trying to get in on this (I mean, who would want to?!) so please don't think anybody will think badly of you, they won't...that said, I really hope they get your problems dealt with, diagnosed and managed very soon cos whatever you wanna call it, it causes you pain and problems and nobody needs that.
Cheer up birthday girl and the best of luck with a different itis from the arth one! xxHey little fighter, things will get brighter0 -
Hope its true and you dont have the dreaded "a",you dont have to leave us though.Mig0

It's excellent news that it may well not be the old Arthur but why leave? You are more than welcome to stay and participate. You may have questions relating to the tendonitis and pain relief and who better to ask than us lot.

No no no Avrielle!!
Never would you need to appologise to us - we will be over the MOON if it is treatable and NOT arthritis
In the meantime you must keep us up to date with what they establish and you may want to stay on as a carer???
Shucks! I was quite enjoying your sense of fun (Ron's jokes etc)
Love and LUCK

Hi, Avrielle, tendonitis can be part of arhtritis. It is very painful. Don't leave, you need the supportt o get over this and chit chat is for everyone0

Hi Avrielle,
Don't be silly of course you mustn't leave us even if it isn't arthur, you still have a painful condition which needs managing. There are no rules to say you have to suffer from arthritis to take part in the forums. We've had others on here without it, sometimes they have relations with it but even so we're here to help whatever you have.
Hope you've not left.

Hello. Thanks for all your replies, you lovely people you!
Suzy - I didn't know tendonitis could be part of arthritis... My GP, other doctors and I are going to continue looking in to the problems I'm having and continue looking for arthritis, just to be sure.
My knees are constantly visibally swollen now. My GP gave one of them a good prodding and told me that he could feel the tendon connecting the front of the knee joint and it felt inflamed to him rather than a general swelling due to the joint itself. But an ultrasound scan, and possibly an MRI scan will be done to get a better idea.
After him prodding it today, it has felt like it is twisted and incredibally painful. So being very careful with it. I'm fully re-stocked on meds and been given an anti-inflammitary (Exitorib, I think is how its spelled?) which I will start in the morning. But currently unable to sleep from pain.
Plus my bad foot is in a bit of a mess. The ligaments are all messed up to a state where my big toe feels like it is detatching itself - which is extremely painful. I may get another MRI scan done on it to have another look at what is going on. Daft that a simple ligiment damage that should (according to doctors) only have taken 6 weeks to heal, and an absolute maximum healing time of 6-8 months, has been over 2 years now and still causing chronic pain.
It frightens me that a similar situation could occur with my knees. Stickywidget, you say it took 2months before you were healed. My pain has been going on and steadily increasing since feburary... Maybe my body just refuses to heal simple injuries?
Oh well.
You all make a good point. Pain is pain after all, and I do like these forums. I was just really worried I'd be booted out for not having arthritis. Or worse, accused of faking/abusing the forums. Not my intention at all. Even though I can ramble on for eternity.
Anyhoo's. ((((((((GROUP HUGGLE))))))))
And Tony, you did read right. Two-tee-five today! Shall be celebrating with a take-away and a glass of grape juice. 8)

It was possibly a bit different. I'd had some groin pain for about 2 weeks and the exercises on that leg were becoming first difficult then impossible (I tried to raise it and nothing happened.) although I could walk OK. I then took a step sideways at the kitchen sink and suddenly couldn't walk at all. After 3 days I could shuffle on a zimmer and after a week, I could manage without it but couldn't pick my leg up properly and couldn't do my straight leg raise exercises for 2 months. It's fine now though. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
