Blokes, wires and arthritis

Mr SW is a fully paid up bloke so him and wires go together. Laptop wire, headphone wire, mobile charger wire – all cosy up to his armchair. Usually I’m aware and careful. Today, I took my eye off the ball (in this case, the wires) started to tumble, aimed myself (from years of practice) at the nearest armchair and managed to more or less make it.

So, as I’m sprawled half on/half off the chair, sideways, with my face deeply embedded in the back cushion, what does my beloved say?

“How did you do that?”

“Oo phoo oovoo yoo foofoo woo.”

“You what?”

I succeeded in twisting my mouth free. “I fell over your sodding wires.”

He carefully wound up the wires and placed his laptop on his chair then stood over me, grinning. “I suppose you want me to get you up.”

With commendable restraint, I did [not/i] wrap the wires round his neck but I do think a little medicinal cabernet sauvignon is called for.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Congratulations on showing such self restraint in responding!!! :? Bit I think probably 2 glasses of the nectar- 1 for shock and 1 to just enjoy it and reward your previous self restraint :) .

Hope you weren't too shook up by the fall.

Thank you to the ladies for your sympathy and understanding.

Tony, you're a bloke. You think like a bloke. You think exactly like my bloke. This is scary.

    Ooh Sticky,
in my mind, (yes that wonderful, strange and rather scary place) "Oophoo ooroo yoo foofoo woo" does not quite translate as "I fell over your sodding wires".
You know we really need our OHs, to help us up, after we've fallen over their stuff!

I trust that cab sauv wasn't mine.

hee hee thats made me smile SW, not that you fell obv, but the way you tell ur stories is fab :) am dreading the time i'm really immobile as our house is a hazard at the best of times what with bub and OH i have no chance- will have to just sit in chair and demand waiting on from them when that happens! OH is at present putting together an inversion table for his back pain- tis man pain mind! yet another gizmo for me to trip over/bang my knees on and generally have to try and avoid- thats all i need!! will prob be used twice and forgotten about like all the others oh joy!!

Omg I have the exact same problem. He has so many wires it looks like an explosion in a spaghetti factory.

I think you were very restrained. I would done something involving scissors and his wires.

oh yes wires wires everywhere, obv a man thing, not only do we have wires attached everywhere but we also have wires stuffed in every possible draw/shelf tis a nightmare especially when bub decides he'd like a bit of the wire action and gets all the wires out of everywhere so there is one massive wire pile throughout the house! not to mention the dogs then start getting tangled up and dragging them about the house too ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    tut tut..
What you wimmin folks fail to realise is just how important these wires are. Without them there would be no horror-nation street, no Britain's got **** all talent, hemorrhoid farm, and that thing that's filmed darn sarrf about that square full of idiots that you wimmin watch...
You should appreciate the efforts us Blokes make to make these viewings possible for you..
