...feeling better. Asked not to see the man I saw last time. I have OA. Last time he told me to get on with my life. I am taking my oh this time, I have two referrals for assorted pains. I can tick on by with moderate pain and after a year of physio my mobility is good, but anything can make it bad. I am worried I will just be sent packing. I would really like an MRI, pain management and treatment, in an ideal world. It is an Orthapaedic referral. An examination will set me off, but not until the next day. Last time he did a lot of asking and no listening. What a surprise I am back. Any advice appreciated.

Lola, I was told that an ortho will not make any decision without an mri that is less than 2 years old. I am sure others will be along shortly, to verify this. I have just been seen for my back and got resent for yet another mri before a decision was made.

So hopefully you will get an mri before they decide how to progress.

That may be true of backs, Suzygirl, but not other bits - well, not in my neck of the woods, anyway.

I've only ever had one MRI and then was when I broke my hip. It's just been X-rays for me.

I hope the appointment goes well, Lolcrayola.

Lola - I don't know where your OA is, but in my area the only way to get an MRI scan is by going private which I had to do with my knee. So glad I did and I got the appropriate treatment before any more damage was done. My own doctor kept fobbing me off and just said I had to put up with it and told me I had the wrong kind of arthritis to qualify for an appointment at any clinic. Needless to say I now see a more understanding female doctor. Hope all goes well.
