Not to be outdone by the lovely Stickywicket, I too have had a fall.
No wires or men were involved, (that doesn't mean they weren't ultimately responsible though).
Yesterday, I was halfway down the stairs, when I remembered something I needed from the bedroom. I half turned on the stairs and my knee gave way. Luckily I fell on the stairs not down them. I hurt my wrist and felt a twinge in my back, nothing too bad.
As the day went on, the twinge in my back got worse. By the time I went to bed I was in agony! Didn't sleep much, then getting out of bed this morning was excruciating, I actually ran out of obscenities and expletives, and had to repeat a few!
Don't think I'll do much today.

Ah well, they do say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. However, I'm struggling with the concept of Numpty running out of expletives.
Please bear in mind that today is Friday and the weekend looms. If in any doubt, either about the back or about the adequacy of your paindullers to deal with it (especially through the night) then get thee to a doc, young Numpty. And a couple of these (())If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

It seems to me that we all are having these falls lately. I can't blame the weather for this.....or can I? Get yourself to the docs I just found out yesterday I've fractured a bone at the side of my foot. I thought it was just the bruising until I couldn't get my shoe on. You take care. May0

Thank you ladies for your kind words and concern.
I'm afraid a doctors appointment is out of the question. You can't ring before 8am, and by 8.05 all appointments have gone!
Sticky, my role model, is it too early for a drink?0 -
Hopeyou feel better soon.Mig0

Aww Numpty
I'm sorry......and its Friday as well.....does your doc not have emergency appointments?
I know ours does.....if its someone they think really needs it...not just for a sniffle
Also you sometimes find that receptionists or secretarys {in the case of a consultant} have spare appts that they keep to themselves until they are needed???
I know its lunch time but would it not be worth a try??? They can only say no!!!
Love

Ouchies Numpty, you poor thing.
I fully get the doctors problem, it's the same here. I'm supposed to go once a month to see mine for certain meds but I would be lucky to get one every 6 weeks. Totally ridiculous!
So in the absence of a doc, I prescribe lots of rest, lots of tlc and some arnica for the bruising.
And a gentle hug from me.

Numpty in the circumstances repeating obscenities seems quite reasonable.
I do hope you feel better very soon.

Numpty I can imagine how much pain you are in. I can't even remember the number of times I've fallen and have marks and broken cupboard doors as proof so I know.
I hope the pain eases soon and you get better soon.
I give you big ((()))

That sound unnatural, Numpty. You didn't bang your head too, did you?If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

When I say stopped, I mean moderated or at least, turned down the volume.0

Well, I was meant to be going to the village social club this evening, to see an Elvis tribute act. Not that I particularly like tribute acts, Elvis or otherwise, but these do's are usually good fun. Anyway, even though the back is greatly improved, it's not really up to an evening of social club chairs. So I won't be going. My OH said he wouldn't go either. "Oh no" says I, "you must go, don't let me spoil your fun". The sods only gone hasn't he!0

And the other 99 times he ignores you completely  I hope the back's on the mend. I doubt it would have been to to Jailhouse Rock anyway. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Bless him, he didn't stay for long, and he brought me some nuts back.0
