Had a visit today from Occupational Therapist, what a lovely lady.
we had a good chat, she watched how i get in and out shower over bath,Im going to have 2 grab rails put in.
She is also getting me a perching stall for the kitchen.
And a short grab stick.....she explained how useful it is for putting on knickers lol, something i struggle with.
Thank you all for encouragement to contact them, really pleased that i did,the items will also make life so much easier

That's good news gilly1957, I hope these new additions help and that you get them soon. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

That's great news and thanking you for telling us. I hope you'll find them all very helpful - especially the knicker-puller-onnerIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

That's good news and good you listen to the advice of the lovely friendly good people that make this forum what it is. They know best and always point everyone in the right direction.
Lucky you as your council is still providing aids. For me the OT wrote the list and I have to get the money to buy them as they don't provide them and the perching stool and grabber are in the list. Grab rails and bath lift they gave me and are so helping me.
They will help you those grab rails. Glad you got the aids.

Hi
Thats great news.
I find the perch stool great for ironing ....which I always hated anyway.....but I now sit and iron and have a break then start again.
Once you have these in place it will make such a difference and now you know who your OT is if there is ever anything else you need or think you need {it can always go back} you can ring and ask.....she can only say no
Love

Hi Gilly, do you already have a bath seat across the bath for showering?
If not, make sure you ask her for one.
This sits on top of the bath so you can sit under the shower.
This was what I first had done when my problem was BPPV (dizziness)
but now I have OA as well and couldn't climb into the bath any longer i have had the entire bathroom turned into a wet room, so if the grab rails and bath seat only suffice for now then you must push for a bathroom adaptation at a later date.
