Sorry to hear this Joan. Good luck with the anaemia treatment. Then perhaps you can get this other sorted.
    All the best,

I'm so sorry about the broken bones, Joan. You must be very stoical to have put up with it for so long.

I hope the anaemia gets sorted quickly. I've had it and all that was needed was a short course of iron tablets so, with luck, that's all you'll need too.

I do hope it's all resolved as soon as possible.

((())) for you and a few more ((())) for Sue.

Oh dear my lovely, what a bother and a nuisance. I too have had anaemia in the past and iron tablets sorted that, but never broken bones. It sounds as though yours are indeed fragile, but given the osteop that is hardly surprising. Please do whatever you need to get the anaemia sorted but as for the bones, well, I guess it's just rest that will sort those. Keep up with the tablets for that, they are important, and eat good 'bone' stuff too - I think I'm right in saying that pilchards are rich in calcium - they're OK on toast! DD

Hi Joan sorry about the anaemia but getting it sorted would seem a good start. You will then have the energy and strength to tackle anything else more effectively. As we know lots of meds and procedures can deplete other things, so best to deal with it first.
    Good luck

    Hi Joan
Sorry about your broken bones......as for the anaemia......a course of iron tablets should do it. I think most of us have gone through that at one time or another.
As for the bones I hope they can sort them and that you can bear them
Do you take meds for osteoporosis? I only have osteopinia and am told life style changes should do it....but my previous GP treated it as OPorosis and I had all sorts of calcium and a wonder med that DD and I loved {not}

    Hi Joan
You are my inspiration on here, whatever comes your way you get over it, I am sure the meds for OP will be doing there work, so hopefully these break may heal.
Has for the anaemia, I am glad they are testing you for this, it shows they are doing there job properly.
Sometimes small breaks are hard to see on Xrays, you ask next time you see someone why they didn't find them..
    You take care of yourself
Love to you and Sue xx

Hi Joan, It's crazy having Osteoporosis! As you know it feels like I break a toe a week sometimes! And as for my left little finger!! You feel like you need to be wrapped in cotton wool sometimes. Hope you sort out your anemia soon, that can't help. Take care my fragile friend.

How are you today, Joan? Has the doc given you any tablets for the anaemia? I hope the back isn't troubling you too much. (())

    Hi Joan
I have osteoporosis which I didn't know about until I fractured a vertabrae. I've now been told I have bones like lace....ribs could fracture if I cough. Its not a nice feeling and yes you feel like you should be wrapped in cotton wool.
I can't take the dreaded tablets so I have Strontiam that was given to me by the specialist. I'm amazed that xrays didn't show up the broken bones but having said that I had a MRI.
I hope you have a good week-end. Take care. May

    Hi Joan,
What a shock to find out you've been walking around with broken bones. I believe it is often when someone breaks bones they find out about the osteop. Anaemia shouldn't take too long to sort out - did they say why they thought you were anaemic by any chance?

Hope you get treatment for osteop asap.
    xx
