Anybody dealing with this ? if so, how, its agony. DX`d about 15 months ago, it eventually went and has how come back with a vengeance.

Apart from exercise, what pain killers are you on? how do you get to sleep and stay there ? Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks guys,

I can't help either Tipsy but I think this is a subject that crops up from time to time. If you do a search on the topic on this part of the forum the other threads should pop up - there might be information on them for you. I wish you well. DD

    Hi Tipsy
You must ask to be referred to a physio, there are things that can be done to alleviate the pain.
I have gent stretching exercises I do, and now I have moved on to a back board, you lie over it, and it opens up the spin.
I also take gabapentin for the sciatic pain it causes.
    You take care x

Thanks to everyone who replied, I``m doing the exercises, am seeing a physio and am lined up for a consultation with a pain doc with a view to injections to the spine. Wish me luck, this is such a painful thing.

    Love to you all.

I am having an MRI scan 2nd August which I am expecting to confirm SS.
I must be at an earlier stage than you as I do manage to get to sleep after taking my medication, although I am always up early (4-5am). Laying down is usually the only way I can get reasonably comfortable if it is especially bad.

I am taking Coc's 30/500 and Gabapentin. I have just upped the Gabapentin as I don't seem to be able to escape the leg nerve pain which feels like a red hot poker scraping down the side of my lower leg. It is helping.

Good luck with your appointment, I think there is an operation that can be done if it is OA bone spurs that are narrowing your spinal canal.

I struggle with exercise, everytime I try it I end up completely out of action for a week or so.
It may help you though so ask your GP or specialist what excercises you could do.

    Hi,

I have your problem and more i'm on 30/500mg cocodomol 2700mg gabapentin 2 x 500mg naproxen and if i really can't sleep after my cocktail of 900mg gabapentin and 2 x cocodomol at night don't work i take a sleeping pill 3.75mg Zopiclone.

That seems to do the trick :D
