the MRI results came back.. The wound in her back is very deep into the bone.
The surgeon won't operate because of her age. Plus he said that she can expect more sores ad her skin is paper thin..
This whole thing is very worrying... Another bad feeling.. Last one I had was with mi Dad before they discovered what was wrong. That dint work out well.

    thanks folks.
I adore my Gran. I always let her bop me on the chin when I see her in case I've done summat wrong.. She always does it with such a grin in her face...

She's the head of the family, in fact her number in my phone is under MAFFIOSI LIL.. It's her side the sicilian bit is from...
My Mum is worried sick & feels dreadful not bring in Leeds but I've told her, we all understand.. It's her Mum though.. :( can't really expect her not to worry.
I just wish she wasn't in hospital, at that age it's hard to get out again... She's not happy being stuck there.. We have explained that it's for her benefit..

The social services are actually looking into the carers that go to her three times a day (she still lives in her own flat on her own) as they don't think they had this wound checked quick enough. They just dressed it when the skin broke.. My Aunty was the one who got her to hospital.

Oh Tony, this is dreadful, your poor Gran!
At least she's in the right place now, and will be looked after.
    I hope she improves soon.
Take care of yourself, and try not to worry too much.
    Thinking of you,

Sorry to read about your gran, and particularly that treatment options are limited.

It isn't much comfort to know that the carers are being looked into - but perhaps it will mean that no-one else has to suffer as your gran appears to have.

    thinking of you all

    hugs ((()))

    My poor Tony

You Gran sounds a proper trouper so if anyone can 'lick' this she will.

Sores are so hard to prevent when people's skin is paper thin, but bless her they WILL do their very best for her. Your Aunt did the right thing getting help for her as sores can develop very quickly.

Fingers are crossed for her and some strength on it's way to you

    love

She's definitely a fighter. Has beaten cancer twice and a stroke. Only has one lung..
She's the strongest old lass I know..

    Hi Tony
I'm on my hols. Just come back from a day out in Brighton but had to answer this although this will be the only time I have
access to a computer until I get back home.
I want you to know you lovely yorkshire bloke that I'm thinking of you and your gran. These sores are virtually inpossible to get rid of once they get so bad. Obviously it should never have been allowed to get this way.
Sending you ((((())))) and I'm pleased to see your Dad is on the mend.

Hi Tony, Our Grans are our hero's! And they have been through so much through their lifes and still come out smiling! I understand how your mom must feel as it's her mother and wants to be near her. I remember my nan having 'tracing paper skin' as we called it. You give her a gentle ((HUG)) from me and I give you a slightly stronger ((HUG)). You and Jan take care as well.
