I had my orthotics appointment yesterday, it was done and dusted in twelve minutes. I discovered that I still have an arch, it's 'disappeared' thanks to rubbish knees and ankles but hopefully the insoles he will make should push things back into approximately the right places. I reckon that's going to feel strange after years of stuff being out of place. Things are also twanging away quite beautifully today thanks to the pressure he exerted on the tops of my knees and feet as he pushed my trotters down into pink foam. Ouch. I have to go back in three weeks, taking two pairs of shoes and one of winter boots with me so he can check that they'll fit. What larks, Pip, what larks. DD

This could be the start of a beautiful relationship, DD. Or, maybe a not so beautiful one.

I very much hope all the pushing and shoving will result in baby insoles which really help past damage and prevent future damage.

As for the twangy knees - you know the answer. You keep telling the rest of us so, physician, take thy own advice and rest up today. (())

I am resting but doing small bursts of chores in between said rests. I am also eating for England, I'm a real piggy today which I know is not good but I care not. My mood is very flat which is not like me. I wasn't referred before, valval, because the waiting list was - wait for it - twenty months. A new broom was brought in just after Christmas and he has tidied everything up. He was the lad I met yesterday and, yes, he is efficient. We arrived ten minutes early and were immediately ushered in. He explained things well, answered my moronic questions with patience and good humour, apologised for causing me discomfort (discomfort? I would use a stronger term than that) and he exuded a very capable manner. I'm sure me and my new toys will get on well, I will do what I am told re getting used to them so that I give them the best chance of helping.

I guess I'm tired - or rather more tired than usual. Poo. :( DD

That's good news DD, I'm pleased you still have arches. :D
Now about these magic insoles, push things back into the proper places you say! Would they work on all parts of the body? If so where can I get some?
Rest now and take care of you.

I am resting, I am also dozing off at regular intervals. This could possibly be the onset of a flare. It could also possibly be a bug. It could also possibly be just beacuse I am tired and fed up. Cor - so many choices and all naff. Thank you all for your kind messages and Mig? Jaffa cakes. DD

Oh yes Joan, I did! He opened up a box which had the pink stuff on each side, then proceeded to push my feet down into the rather gritty oasis-type stuff by pressing hard on my knees and then the tops of my feet. My knees are still protesting today. Walking is a bigger struggle at the moment, I have to say but hey-ho, no matter, I am sure this will pass as all things do. Feet can be troublesome things, yes?

Hello valval, thank you for the hug, it was much appreciated. I am feeling a little brighter in myself today - and haven't eaten anywhere near as much  - so I reckon yesterday was just a 'down' day, that's all. I am still taking things easy as I am far from comfortable in myself so I reckon being idle is a good plan! I hope you are as OK as you can be - and everyone else on here too. DD
