what should I do?

Hello again,
Since the xray/mri that showed both hips have moderate arthritis, I have seen the surgeon to be told that I dont need replacement yet but will do at some point. The rheum has kept me on books with an unclear diagnosis of some sort of Arth but not sure what/why. Next apointment is in April 13.
Since the first xray- I have noticed lots of aches/pains/clicking/weakness in my wrists and shoulders and ankles. I am concerned I have RA but the consultant said that the drugs were toxic and not yet necessary.
I am 44 yrs old and have pain every day.
Should I return to rheum and ask for x rays in other parts of body?
Any advice?
Thanks x

Hi louj. I’m sorry things are no better.
In your situation I think my first port of call would be my GP. He’ll have the rheumatologist’s letter and there may be something on it such as ‘if it spreads/gets significantly worse, make an earlier appointment. At the very least he could give more pain relief.
Or, if you have a rheumatology helpline number, just give them a buzz and see what they suggest. If you do go back to the rheumatologist I’d see what they say rather than going in demanding x-rays. You might feel it’s worth suggesting it but x-rays don’t tell the whole story.
Don't just leave it, though, if it's nattering you. Good luck!If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi louj
Your story does remind me of mine, I started with my knee then hips and now my neck ankles and wrist and thumbs..I do think to myself have they got there diagnosis right...I saw a rhyumy along time ago but he was a waste of time..and in an hurry to get away.
So I do understand what you are saying, please make another appointment, make yourself heard then they listen. Good Luck
I do hope you get some answers very soon.xLove
