So he's good as a football pundit but on the olympics he asks such silly questions it makes me cringe,why not have someone who has experienced athletics.Mig

    I think it's because they pay him a fortune for Match of the Day and so try and trott him out as regularly as possible to get value for money. I agree though, football he can do, interviewing other sporty types, rubbish!

    He's not the only clueless one: Denise Lewis is rubbish as is Matt Baker and Jake Humphrey. My favourites so far are Clare Balding, Mark Foster and Ian Thorpe who, despite the umms and aaaahs was very informative. But his dress sense? Ghastly. He makes Alan Shearer look good. DD

    He looked good in lycra though :wink: . Just overdressed as a commentator.

    Clare Balding has been fantastic as has Gabby Logan on her late night round-up with John McEnroe, Michael Johnson and Superstar guest. Lovely to see Alan Wells last night, our gold medal 100 metres champion of 1980. .Even without the Americans (they boycotted the Moscow games) that was no mean feat! He has aged well too.

    Gary Linekar looks bored all the time and often interrupts his guests. There are rumours he's moving on to BT sports coverage so maybe his hearts not in it anymore?

    You don't need inside information to tell that! I agree totally...on Gary Linekar - are he and his colleagues having a fake tan competition?! Not good in or out of Lycra with some of those shades going on
