Back story above. I finally, 5 weeks to the day after the ultrasound was performed on my hands, got my results back.
I saw my GP about pains in my toe joints and hips, he blamed my footwear and told me to buy decent leather shoes. Which is all very well and good but I'm a vegetarian  I can't afford the cost of proper non leather shoes. So I live in canvas shoes, converse etc.
Then he said the results were finally back and they're completely normal. I'm confused (been waiting for a scan since November last year). He has no idea what's caused my joint swelling, stiffness, pain and the pains in my achilles tendon. Plus I also have Psoriatic nails. They took the scan on about the best day I've had joint wise since last autumn. Sods law!
He also doesn't know if my Rheumy will even want to see me again. I also have Fibro but that doesn't cause swelling. I have Joint Hypermobility Syndrome but I've had that since birth - why would it wait 24 years and suddnely make my joints swell? Plus I didn't think it was inflammatory unless an injury occured to a joint. In the space of one month my ring size increased by 2 sizes. So I can't be imagining my symptoms. I've had Fibro for 26 months now and these pains are new compared to when it first started.
I don't know what to do now. My gut is telling me something else is wrong, my GP is also surprised as he was so sure I had arthritis. My blood tests show inflammation and I have visible swelling. My fingers are sausage-y. I just feel like my Drs are thinking I'm crazy but my parents can see the swelling too and I don't think it's somatic. But I have no idea what else it might be.
I was hoping I'd have some answers and treatment now. But it seems my GP thinks it's not arthritis so case closed and I just have to see if my Rheumy wants to see me again. I don't think he will, he seemed very uninterested and sceptical when I met him 'they don't look swollen to me' even when I explained they weren't swollen that day :x
I don't know where to go from here.

I can imagine how frustrated you must feel. Somehow, if we can name the beast, it seems easier to tame it.
The only thing that occurred to me was that it might, indeed, be connected with your Joint Hypermobility Syndrome so I did a spot of googling  and found the Hypermobility Association's website http://www.hypermobility.org/painandhms.php and an article which suggested, to me at least, that it could be this kicking in even though it hasn't done previously. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
