Hi everybody
Quick question that I'm sure someone on here can help with. Does anyone know of any connection between RA & MS? and does anyone you know have both or have both in their family.
Hope you are all as well as you can be and enjoying the sun.

I'm sure I've read somewhere of a potential connection but I don't know of anyone with both. In fact, I only know one person with MS. Given the number of rheumatoids on this forum, we don't seem to have many (any?) with MS.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi I know of two people with arthur and MS, I think one left the forum a few years ago. I think they are both auto-immune disorders.

I am sorry Vonski. I shall try to get in touch asap. My mum was awful today and I must make the doc at the hossie get her notes from the mental health unit on the hospital site when she was put on anti pychotic drugs as this is an exact replica of the time before and she is no longer my mum again. She is with the demons like last time. She thinks she is coming out on Tuesday and atm she is a danger to herself and others if they discharge her. Tonight I must look at my old diaries and old letters from the medics and try to get this sorted ...from a distance.
I am thinking of you,

Elna I remember all too well what you went through with your mum and how long it took before she came round. Don't worry about replying to me I can wait. Please don't go rushing around and taking too much on.
Thinking of you

Hi Vonski, it is possible to have both RA and MS, unfortunately. I have SLE and Sjorgens and APS. It has taken them years to rule out MS for me. My symptoms are like having RA and MS. If you try the NRAS forum, then you may find a couple who have both.0

Hi Vonski
My sister has MS and Arthritis.
I have RA.
My brother has Lupus, but he was originally diagnosed with MS.
My dad had AS.
I was assessed for the Anti-TNF but was told that I should not go on them as there is a chance of me getting MS because it is in the family.

Hi Suzygirl and Mary
Thank you both for your replies, it is very interesting to find out a bit more about the neurological diseases. Shame no one can find a magic potion or wandthat can either help or better cure them all, just one so we don't have to take all the nasty meds.
I hope you are both as good as you can be.
