If at first you DO succeed, try not to look astonished!
Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
The early worm gets eaten by the bird, so sleep late.
Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.
Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret.
Friends are those rare people who ask how you are and then wait for the answer.
Plan to be spontaneous tomorrow.
A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking.
Never be ashaimed of laughter that's too loud or singing that's too joyful.
A good friend is cheaper than therapy.
Don't look back: you're not going that way.

Your Dad had wisdom, Toni.
How many times do we open our mouths when it would have been better to keep them firmly closed? Mea culpa :!: :roll:0 -

More pearls of wisdom:
One of the secrets of life is to make stepping-stones out of stumbling blocks.
Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterwards.
Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.
Sometimes you have to take the leap, and build your wings on the way down.
Worrying is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do, but it doesn't get you anywhere
You are younger today than you ever will be again. Make use of it for the sake of tomorrow.0 -

It was sound advice, Joan. I'm a bit of a worrier, so I will remember that one.
I'm having a lovely lazy weekend, thank you, just sitting here with my cat, Tommy, for company.
I'm glad that you and Sue had a good birthday.0 -
