Hi all,
Well i had my 8 week check with my spinal doctor on the 9th and he asked
me lots of questions about my pain and what scales between leg , back , arm that i get from my back and i told him the back is my worse offender -
because if i had major surgery to correct my leg pain my back would be worse so i said NO thanks to that.
I said no more spine jabs it didn't work and made me worse!
I told him about my fall in the bath he said he wants me to have an M.R.I to see if i have stuffed myself up some more.
We went through all my new neck and thoracic xrays and he said all discs are gone gone gone gone need i go on?!
So i said to him
"are you saying that my whole spine is completely NAFF"
and he said "well in a nutshell YES"
then he said "oh that is a new word i must put that in my medical journal"
So then we all had a bit of a laugh
So i am now to be referred back to pain clinic.
Anyway i got back to my van and reality hit me like a tonne of **** and i
broke down. Now i'm in a daydream fog. Still waiting for it to sink in.
Sorry for the long post just had to get it off my chest.

It is a blow when one realises just how bad things have become and it does take time for it all to sink in, to re-group and then to carry on as best one can. I hope the MRI doesn't show up any further troubles, I really do. Take care. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi DD,
Thanks for your kind words, i've always been a very independent person
so getting that news was a reality shock for me.
As i got the answers to my debilitating pain,
which for me was bad enough when i was diagnosed 3 years ago with fibromyalgia i only just got over that shock.
I think it's mainly knowing that both my problem's have no cure!

I'm very sorry about this, Lexy. Has he suggested anything you can do that will help matters or, at least, help to stop stuff deteriorating further, or slow down the process? If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi,
He's put me in for another mri to see if i've made it worse when i fell in the
bath but apart from that he said go to pain clinic.

I hope they'll be able to help you, then. I have found that sometimes it's just a matter of hanging on in there until some new treatment comes out. When do you go?If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Lexy I hope the pain clinic are able to help you. It is horrid when you realise nothing can be done. We are here, though.
Do something nice for your self, few choccies or a nice film etc. You deserve it.0 -
Hi,
Well i have to slow down remember why i can't do certain things
and i have to ask for help oh and learn patience! everything i lack and goes against my independence (oh i'm not allowed much of that any more either)
So yes suzygirl i picked out on jacket potato smothered in butter and very
strong cheese followed by 6 juicy peaches and freshly chopped nectarines
in orange jelly

Hi Lexy
Gosh that is such a shock for you, and I can imagine what you felt like in the van, its sought of surreal when told things like this, and in a strange way I think that is meant to help us.
Anyway you vent your feeling on here, then we can support you, and I do hope the latest MRI gives you some good news.
You take care and please let us know how you get on xxLove
