Hi all. Been missing for a few days because i was having problems logging on. Think its sorted now. Was at the hospital to see the rhumy today. After a lot of discussion it was decided that i would come off Lef and go on to Salz. This is my third dmard in 12 months and i dont know how i feel. Got the feeling the rhumy didnt know what else to do with me. Imentioned the weight loss and he defo thinks its the RA thats causing it. I think its because it was happening while i was on mex too, although not as bad. I also got a big steroid injection that has made me feel very unwell. Feel like having a good cry but i know its not gonna get me anywhere. Maybe i,ll be lucky this time, who knows. Sorry for the bit of self pity. Feel i havent been on for ages, so hope everyone is as well as can be.Any tips on Salz would be appreciated.

Hello 7worlds, I hope that the new med will help you. Is salz the same as sulphasalazine? I've been on that for ten years now and usually with other meds although I began with with that alone. DD

If I remember correctly, 7worlds, the sulph is gradually built up so it may take some time before youy notice any change in anything. Please let us know how you are getting on with it, yes? You will soon be able to join in with the chorus of that famous Beatles song: 'We're all doing a yellow sulpha wee, a yellow sulpha wee, a yellow sulpha wee.' (I think it was Colywobble who came up with that!) Good morning- Oh the yellow sulpha wee- it comes as a bit of a surprise to start!!!! I was most panicked when there was bleach in the loo and my wee was bright orange! :o
Try to remember to take the sulfasalazine with food to avoid it making you nauseous. Hope the steroids kick in soon and you start to feel better. :)
