Yes Marianne there are a lot of the forum friends who are having ops, struggling and going through some bad times. We have to count our blessings in one way that we are least on the right side of things now - hopefully. I know I couldnt walk very far as yet, hope you your knees arent too bad after your walk. I have problems with my other knee too and it will need replacing but oh, not sure if I want all this lot again.

What what you feel about it knowing what its like to have a TKR. At least Helen doesnt have to think about that but oh, how brave was she to have a double TKR eh?
My scar seems to be doing ok. Still using the bio oil. But evenings I do seem to notice hotness, swelling and redness. Last night I had to come downstairs around 1a.m. and take a tramadol hoping for some sleep, which after taking the tablet didnt do too bad.

I have quite a bit of 'clicking' in the new knee and am surprised at that. I go back to ortho clinic on 5th Sept so will see what they say about it.

Weather hasnt decided what to do today, brief and I mean brief bursts of the sun but it seems scared to stay out.

Have a good afternoon and take care
    And everyone else too.

Hi Kath,Your so right about this site,We get so much help and support each other a through all the good and bad times .This TKR I sometimes think I would have struggled to cope without the forum ,having all the new and old knees to turn to ,.....Now would I have it done again ? ........oh dear catch 22 question ,like yon u mt other knee is not good my R/A continues to cause damage despite the luflenomide which should slow down the joint dammage its only been 6 mths so maybe it will help ,but I really think a TKR is on the cards at some stage ,I think its possibly a little like childbirth very painful at the time but it soon fades as you love what you have ,So hopeing we have really good results in the end I truely agree with you about Helen brave girl I believe she has been driving since yesterday .oh and Peg who had a terrible accident to the same knee ,Kath hopefully once we can sleep better things will improve all round ,I am wondering at 5 weeks in if I can totally submerge my leg in a bath or maybe try swimming again after the 6 weeks so far I just wipe it with a fresh cloth each time and continue to use bio/oil . just found hospital letter guess what ? yes my follow up appointment is the 5 th september to :lol::lol: not at the same hospital though , but I certainly will be thinking about you today our weather is very mixed but not humid which just wipes me out I am definately not walking far today I have learnt my lesson moderation in all things knees ,I can mannage a few easy things in the garden hope today is really good for you and all the knees old and new and everyone else ,Marrianne :)

I feel sure you would be ok having a bath at this stage.
We dont have a bath as I could never us it and had difficulty in getting over the bath side so we have a walk-in shower instead.

Day after my staples came out I took a shower so you should be fine, but of course the District Nurse I aint  so might be better to check.

I'm at the hossy on the 5th at 9.30 am
Havent been up and dressed at that time for weeks except for when I was actually in hospital for 3 days, so will have to set my alarm and miss my morning cuppa and newspaper in bed.

    bye for now
