Has anyone tried the magnetic bracelet things? Considering it may be worth giving them a go after looking at this study......

In my early days of battling with disease I bought one (solid silver with 8 magnets) wore it and tried to convince myself it worked. I reckon those things are 'effective' for those who like to think they have arthritis but surely they're just ageing, which is a very different game. My mum swears by hers, she's 88 but not arthritic. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hers works, thenIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Oh yes. Mum's a great one for self-diagnosis and frequently exercises those amazing 'medical' skills. Her latest wisdom is that I should be mopping myself down with witch-hazel. Ye gods. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Ahh ok then lol. I was just on a little research hunt last night for something completely different and came across this.
Possibly a mind over matter thing?0 -
Yes I think it is mind over matter but who cares....lots of them are pretty and might do something for you so if you want to go ahead and try.

I once had a friend who swore by his bracelet and the fact that black muck accumulated under it - he said that was the inflammation leaving his body...it obviously gave him some form of relief, he never seemed to make the link between the black stuff under his bracelet and the black stuff under his nails. Not sure if that was inflammation too!Hey little fighter, things will get brighter0 -
I got talked into buying one from a man on a stall. He assured me that people have a 94% reduction in pain within 2 weeks. It didn't happen for me. The bracelet looks pretty though! The more things I try and the more things that don't work, the more skeptical I become. However, I like to give these things a whirl just on the off chance.0

i went a bit crazy and bought loads of stuff made from amber. all off ebay and all really quite cheap. its electomagetic and is what the ancients used before they invented magnetic bracelets. i think there is a lot to be said for some of the old remedies and cures. people did die young but that was from lack of stuff like penicillin etc so my thinking was that they might help.
omg - the increase in pain was out of this world. it felt like i was drawing an electomagnetic storm to my body, through my wrists fingers and neck. i dumped them them tried again and within minutes i could feel the slow quiet trickly of pain. so they are now dumped again.
however, had i perhaps persisted and taken these bolts of electricity, then maybe just maybe they would have done some good lol
i also got the medicare machine which works like tens but better (same electomagnetic thing) i did think that maybe they were working and used them daily for a few months. then i actually got quite bored sitting with the pads on the different joints that needed treated 3 times each per day. maybe if it was just your hands or feet it wouldnt be so bad, but too far gone for me. thats dumped.
i did wear magnetic bracelets in my 20s made from welding rods from some offshore friend. i didnt have too many flares then so maybe they worked. long lost not dumped so cant try it again right now.
thing is some people swear by these things and if it is all in the mind, then maybe the same mind can turn this damned autoimmune disease off too.....wishful thinking. anyone tried? lol0
