Hi Lizzie,
Yes i have had them in the past and it took eight to ten days before it kicked in with me. It was magic!!!
It lasted quite a while too and made me feel as if i was reasonably well again.
I hope it will soon work for you and give you some relief.
Best wishes

thanks for the reply dilly. thats weird it took that long. I thought it was meant to take up to 48 hrs. Do you know what yours was? All i know was mine was kenalog?0

I think mine was Depo, it definitely wasn`t Kenalog.
Don`t forget, we are all different and what works well or quickly for one person may be another matter for someone else, but if you were told to expect it to work as quickly as that you may soon feel the benefit.
Let us know how you get on Lizzy.0 -
I've had two or three of these over the years and they don't do much for me. I hope it kicks in sooner rather than later and that you find some benefit. Good luck. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi, I had one on Thursday , it was the first i have had in my bum. Ihave had a lot in my joints, they did work but after 18 months they started not lasting as long and in the end i found the pain having them was'nt worth it .
I am feeling better today, my joints arent as painful . i am hoping it lasts for a while . Lets hope we both get lots of pain relief from them . jilly x0 -

Hi Lizzie
I had one of those back in Dec last year, up to a couple of months ago I was pain free. It worked for me within 5 days I could not believe it the pain was gone and almost all the swelling had disappeared. It is now slowly creeping back, but I have an appt with my Rheumy this Thursday so will see what he has to say.
Hoping you get the same relief I did.
Love n Hugs

Hi, I had my 4th depo injection on Friday. Usually takes about 3 days before I can start to reduce tramadol and paracetamol from my daily rounds of meds.
The relief from this usually lasts about 6 weeks for me and then starts gradually reducing and I then need to start the pain meds again.
I was having to wait 3 months between getting depo injections but have now been advised that I can go back again after only 6 weeks for another one. The idea is to get me off of the tramadol while waiting for a tocilizumab infusion. (Body has to clear rituximab infusion which did nothing for me).
Hope by today you are feeling some relief.

I have had about six. Three from my doctor and three from the hospital, which are a lot stronger. I find they do help me as i am now on my third set of DMARDS in the quest to find one that works, so they plug the gap a bit. However, I am now thinking about what damage they may be doing in themselves and they are defo not lasting as long as they used to, I also have a lovely big dent in my behind, at the injection site. Lovely

it doesnt seem to have worked so far. been 2 days. feel like i can hardly stand on my legs. im worried if i tell him it hasnt worked that he'l say they cant do anything else or that it isnt arthritis0

I have had two of them about 6 months apart. I have had them into joints too and I don't think the effect of the one in your bottom is as dramatic as it is in the joints but it still worked for me - I just gradually noticed that my fingers and feet were not swollen and sore. My finger is like a balloon today so may just have to book myself in for one of these again. Helen0

That's interesting that you mentioned the dent in the bum! I've had a few of these and noticed the dent...my doctor told me that this shouldn't happen so I thought it was just me. I've always found the steroid injections great, they seem to get working in a few days and last well. I really hope they have worked for you.
I do worry about the side effects...steroids is a scary word, but I try to put that out if my mind and focus on feeling bette.0
