These infections are quite common on here and I think they are to do with the immuno-suppressant meds. I hope it clears, you may need to stop the cimzia and meth to help it do so - my doctors always tell me to stop the humira and meth when I have an infection (although I've not had a urinary one to date). I hope you feel better soon. DD

    Thank you.
My doctor sad nothing about stopping cimzia or metex. But it was not my regular doctor I saw to day because she is not there on tuesdays, so don't now if the doctor I saw to day now all about cimzia and metex. But I tried to explain it to him.
Wondering if i shall call my reuma doctor and check .But maybe I'll give it some days and see if the tablets are working.

Hi Kathe, I have an infection at the moment too. I had to go to A and E Saturday night. I have been given Cefalexin and am starting to feel a bit better.
I have 4/6 infections a year, all because my immune system is rather unstable, so it's more than likely if you are a bit low that's why you have the infection.
I'm sure that your tablets will do the trick and you'll soon be feeling a lot better.
The trick is too drink a glass of water every 40 minutes or so. You can also put two teasponfuls of bicarbonate of soda in a glass with water, this helps to neutralise the acidic part of the urine. It's not a great taste though.
I also use a wet wipe with a bit of tea tree oil on it when I 'go' (sorry if this is too much information), it stings a little bit but cleans and stops the infection. My gp gave me these tips.
Hope you feel better soon, make sure you take the full course and go back to your gp if it doesn't clear up completely, as sometimes we need a second course.

I'll trie that whit the tea tree oil, that was a new way to use the oil. But tea tree oil is really good , I use it on so many other things and it clear up infetions . So I'll trie it cant hurt. A great tips. Thank you.

    Hi Kathe,
I forgot to mention that I take cranberry capsules every day. I find the cranberry juice too acidic to drink. They are quite pricey but I've found the best price at Savers.
My gp is sure the reason I've gone so long since my last attack is because of the capsules.
    Just a thought.
I hope you are more comfortable today, I'm definitely on the mend and may be able to venture out soon. Best wishes, Joy

Hi Kathe, amazing to think of you out there in the North Sea, especially with a nasty infection. I have Norweigan ancestors (1700's).
Many good wishes to you, also use the wipes on their own when you are better rather than tissue, it is kinder to your undercarriage and cleans better, front to back only. My very best to you. Joy.

Hi Kathe, you should be so proud of yourself, I think you are amazing too. To hold down such a difficult responsible job out there in the North Sea as well as fight old Arthur. You are a trooper believe me.
I hope your other meds kick in soon. If not you must ask to try something else. Your poor ankles and knees.
Sending you virtual hugs and lots of good wishes for some positive news soon. Bless you. Joy.

I apologise for not replying yesterday, I'm having a rough time at the moment. I too think you are someone very special in that you are doing what you are doing despite the arthritis. I admire and respect you and I think you are doing exactly the right thing in researching another career in case your current one has to end. You lead a tough and demanding life - how you have done it so far is beyond me. I hope that the anti-bios sort out the infection and that you feel better soon. DD

That's very good news that the infection has cleared, kathe. We all have enough to put up with without all these added extras. However, I'm sorry about the arm and I hope the next dose of cimzia will help.

Hi Kathe, so pleased for you that your infectiion has at last cleared up. Very sad though you are suffering so much and Arthur is playing you up big time.
I don't suppose you are really getting enough rest out there in the elements and doing heavy stuff in your work. How you manage to do it all is amazing.
We all get so tired of 'keeping going' all the time. Sometimes I wish I could flick a switch and turn myself off for a while, to get a break from the relentlessness of it all.
I pray that your meds kick in better soon and you find some relief for your poor body.
Also that you get to go home and have a bit of rest and relaxation.
    Take care of yourself, Joy
