I was referred to the consultant & attended my initial meeting. I was asked to book myself in for a Pre-Op assessment (which I did). The next day I was offered a full time job. My partner & I sat down and talked this through. I would accept the job offer & manage the pain with medication. I immediately accepted the post & contacted the consultant's secretary to inform her of the developments. She completely understood & told me to call them back when the pain was unbearable.
Work knows about my condition & is very supportive and the following pre-op & subsequent clinics were cancelled & I was discharged from his care.
I went to the doc to ask him to refer me back to the consultant, he had a medical student with him at the time.
He was so rude & launched at me verbally saying that I was just wasting everyone's time & do I know how valuable the allotted slots were.
I was so humiliated & furious that he had NOT bothered to find out what had EXACTLY happened before he opened his mouth.
I pointed out to him that I worked at The Harley st Clinic in London for 12yrs & I knew exactly how important these slots are. "you did not turn up for your appointment, I will refer you this last time but if you change your mind again don't come back to me, find someone else".
The surgeon I am now booked under also has an attitude problem & wont answer my questions. I was wondering if they have a communication between themselves about MY attitude. Is it wrong of me to use my working knowledge of protocols & procedures to keep everyone informed.

Hi Eddie
Oh dear! When you were referred again did you take a letter to the consultant from the gp as something may have been written in there as they normally mention something about the patients personality. I often wonder if some of the phrases are code words for something or other ..... If a letter was sent you can ask to view it.
I am not quite clear when you say that you got have a full time job the next day and informed the consultants secretary what was going on. You say the company are aware and very sympathetic regarding your health problems. Is this a job you were in before part time perhaps made up to full time or a completely new job offer with a new company? If they are sympathetic wouldn't they be ok with you having the hip op, recuperating and then returning to work or perhaps working from home at all, if this is possible?
I do not believe that your GP was right in being so rude to you because you had cancelled everything in time and the appointment could be used for some other patient.
Hope this makes sense!

I totally agree to elnafinn,An attitude can be defined as a positive or negative evaluation of people, objects, event, activities, ideas, or just about anything in your environment.hormone Replacement Therapy | Leather Jackets For Men0

I too am a little confused by the timescale here, how much time elapsed before you requested another referral and the GP being rude? I think you are doing the right thing in keeping people informed but the docs appear to be behaving rather high-handedly, which always makes me question anyone's professional abilities (be they doctors, teachers, managers, shop assistants or whatever) when they behave like that. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
