For the past few weeks I have been suffering on and off with very bad cramp in the same leg as I have my RA.

Could the too be connected? Does anyone else suffer from this problem?

I have physio tomorrow so I am going to mention it to him as well.

Cramp is mentioned on here fairly frequently and I think it's just one of those things. Remedies include increasing your salt intake for a short while (but not by much), increase potassium by eating a daily banana for a few days, tonic water is good too because the quinine helps, and make sure your fluid intake is sufficient. I hope it goes soon, it's miserable isn't it? I get it occasionally because I don't move enough in my sleep. DD

Hi Debra, yes cramp is very common and it is a horrible thing to have.
I get it a lot in my right calf and foot, drives bonkers sometimes.
The Quininne the doc gave me once gave me terrible tummy cramps so I gave up on it. Lots of rubbing, gentle stretching and keeping the area warm helps. When it's bad I wear a support tubigrip to bed.
Dreamdaisy has given you a couple of good tips. Hope it all settles down soon.
Let us know if the physio has a tip that helps us too. Joy

Yes I also get cramp a lot. I find it is worse when I have to spend quite a lot of time resting.
Tonic water really does help as does walking about although the latter is painful at first.
