My husband is away for a few weeks and he's not contactable, I'm moving home whilst he is away (its the way the dates have worked out) and my right thumb has decided to play silly beggers.
I do not have time for this!
Think its a reaction to packing up the house but it could have waited til next week. Worrying now that the tendon will snap again then I'll be up that famous creek without a paddle!

My goodness how brave are you. I couldn't even begin to think about moving on my own. Mind you you could chuck some stuff out and he'd probably never know. You could say something vague like " Must have got lost in the move " if he did.
Really sorry about your poor thumb. Mine have pins in to hold them together. Thumbs are such a nuisance.
Best of luck on the move, be careful though. Joy0 -
Thumb is no longer thumb shaped. Slightly worried but too busy to get it checked. I have an appt with rheumy nurse next week so I will hang on til then.
House it almost ready to go. Harry and I are being fed by my sister and my parents over the coming days and they are helping out with the move.
Wish I could talk to hubbie but he's in the middle of the ocean with the navy at the mo. He's a civvy so he's not away for months at a time thankfully.
Had to decide whether or not to put Harry through another operation today. He's got a poorly willy which needs sorting. Rather do it now (he's 2) than later when he will be able to remember it. Poor boy.0 -
Hi Jenzie, we have a lot in common, beside thumbs!
My son is in the Navy (not a civvie though) and both my son's had to have operations on their willies (they'd hate to know I'm divulging this) at age nearly 4. I don't know what your little Harry's reason is but mine were because they had to be circumsized to make them wee properly they were spraying all over the place and they both had to have a hydrocele removed at the same time from their testicles.
It didn't harm them though, one has two sons and the other nearly has 4!
Neither of them remember having it done. Either they've blocked it out or they really don't remember.
If you don't mind me saying you really need to get that thumb looked at at some point. You don't need me to tell you how important thumbs are!
As said before good luck with your move. Take care. Joy0 -
Joy - Harry has a too tight foreskin so he keeps getting infections under it which is creating scar tissue. It means repeated antibiotics and weeing sideways! Learning lots about little boys willies after having only sisters!
I was planning to have my thumbs fused early next year but it may be that it happens before Christmas!
Pick up the keys tomorrow. The move is nearly here!0 -
Oh jen
I do hope it eases up for you, no wonder with all that packing, and I do know how awful thumb pain is.
Now please be careful, to late I suppose for that, you try some ice on it.
Good luck with house moving,I have two sons both married now, but my eldest had an op for that, and he has been fine ever since, and has two lovely daughters.
You take care xxLove

Hi Jenzie, same reason as my boys, plus the hydrocele. I think it's more common than we think. As I have three sisters I had to learn very quickly about little boys winkies too,now I'm surrounded by them, also having five grandsons under 7.
When my boys had their ops the surgeon put a big plaster on their teddies 'willy'!
Also I have had two thumb fusions, one last year and one in March this year. Last years went really well and isn't too much of a problem, it has two pins in. The one I had done this year is not so successful and now I have very odd thumbs!
Best of luck, Joy0
