Hi
I arrived back from a lovely holiday in the Loire Valley, France with family and friends. Very relaxing, chilled out holiday. Nice weather, beautiful countryside, good food and wine! But I have been really struggling with my hips and back. My THR side aches and I get some stronger pain, but the real problem is my other hip, `my` hip. It is going downhill fast, terrible pain in the joint, my knee sciatica and back pain which is not helped by the hip dysplasia. I have upped all my pain dullers to the top doses but I am in tears when I try to walk, even in the house. I am really worried as I am due back at work on Wednesday. I have rung the Gp`s and have made the first appointment, which is next Monday.
My hubby is worried about me and is helpful as always. Sorry to come on here and moan, but I just needed to let it out!
Thanks xx
NB

I reckon that holidays are dangerous things, you're away with lovely weather, friends and family, out of the humdrum and thus tempted to do more than you probably should. We know that things can deteriorate (and do) but at least you are doing the right thing in contacting the doctor straight away. I'm not sure what he will be able to do but make sure you tell him everything so that he has as full a picture as possible. Take care. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Thanks DD
I was having some problems before the holiday, but chose to ignore it, and put it down to being too busy at work before I finished. The receptionist even asked if i was ok when i went in to collect my pre hol meds. But I decided against making an appointment then, in favour of hoping the holiday would help, and bury my head ostrich style!
I have physio tomorrow, which was for my lumbar spine after a fall in February. I agree the GP probably won`t have a solution as such, but am hoping for a change of pain dullers so I can keep going at work. If things persist I can ring the hip specialists sec to bring forward my next appointment, but hope I don`t need to do that.
    Take care x

Oh NB, that just isn't fair. You have a lovely holiday and then come back to this!
I hope it doesn't take the shine off your holiday.
    All the best,
