If arthers were allowed into the games, what sport would we do?

murderpills? long distance pill shove? 10m medley? 200m bottomcrawl?

marathon cycle push?

A great idea, Airwave. We need our own events as these athletes seem mostly to be disabled but exceptionally strong and not in pain. We need the Wimpolympics.

Now, I know our lovely pink flamingo is a dab hand at mowing the lawn from her scooter.

I think Joan (dachsund) and her sister would make a good dog-walking-from-scooter pair.

And, from what I know of some on here, we could easily raise a magnificent elbow-bending squad  (I'm pretty good at it and my elbows don't even bend much  ) I think we'd probably need a lot of qualifying heats for that though.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I think a lot of the para athletes would be a lost cause if they ever sat down and thought about it! However they have learned to make the most of their bodies.

Have you seen the (USA) wheelchair tennis player? He has an electric one, serves up the ball with his feet and his racket is strapped to his wrist or the legless and armless swimmer who lays in the water on his side and uses his stump like a cartwheel to propel himself, incredible.

The cyclist who came here without even a bike or anywhere to stay, a local family put him up, found him a bike and he competed. The Egyptian windsurfer who came last in every race a leg BEHIND the last finisher, he got a standing ovation from the race team, so many stories to wonder at.

    What would arthers do?

I would put myself forward for that one

(the chap with no bike :? that actually brought a tear to my eye :( )

The slow stairs race (last one up is the winner). No stannah stair lifts allowed , they can have their own race.

    I love synchronised creaking!

Oooh Airwave, what a cracking idea.

    Synchronised hydrotherapy exercises.

Getting Clatterators in and out of the back of a two-door car (I'm a shoe-in for that one!)

You could also have a longer-lasting event similar to a cricket match viz. track down and fill your prescription. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

So, the sychronised walking stick clatter??? Crutch shuffling and stick tapping?? Forum athletics??

Come on you lot, we get more than one event and we get coaches, physios, masseurs, psychologists all paid for, media supporters, training facilities, transport and we need a proper name for our centre?
