Hello Everyone ,

I've just realised how long it is since I was here, any way, I thought you might like to know I was prescribed Cimzia, I chose the self injection option because I didn't want to go into hospital to have the infusion, but to start the treatment a nurse came to my home and gave me the first two, I didn't even feel the needle go in!!! 8) for the next week or so I felt like a squirrel on speed, the pain that I'd had for as long as I could remember was gone :shock: but during the two weeks I had to wait for my next injection I had to go to my dentist, I asked my RA nurse if it was ok to go ahead with the injection and she advised no, incase of any infection but the next week was fine. So I got it out of the fridge and waited the half hour (for it to reach room temp') I held the needle and pointed in the direction it was meant to go, took a deep breath plunged it in, I suppose I shocked myself and I pulled it straight back out, this was what I did three times! :roll: .....now you know where my name comes from!.....any way fourth try I got it in and managed to push the fluid through, since then I haven't looked back, although there are a few new niggles in my foot/ankle which I'm sure will be sorted out when I next see my consultant. So, if anyone is thinking about or have been offered this fabulous drug......................good luck and I hope you find the same good results

Hello, it's lovely to hear from you again and I am so pleased that the cimzia is working for you. There are a couple of threads about it at the moment as some others have started it and things aren't going as smoothly for them so I hope this post gives them encouragement to carry on. Keep as well as you can, numptynorah, these things are great while they last and let's hope this lasts for a good while yet. DD

So great to hear that the cimzia is working four you....That great news...
I`m olso on cimzia but four me it hasen`t had effect yet. But hopefully it comes...Have been on it four 6 weeks...Took 2 injetions every 2 weeks the first 6 weeks. Now I gone take 1 injetions every two weeks...

Hello Kathe,
I really hope it does work for you, I started with two injections then down to one, the only thing I don't like is having to inject myself, I think everyone reacts differently and at different times so please don't give up. I was offered five different drugs all doing the same thing, I went with this one because the trials included fatigue, that was shown to be very favourable too.
You may find that you notice an effect all of a sudden. Good Luck

I hope it does continue to work as well as it is now, I don't know what I'd do if it doesn't last. It's been nearly a year so far so I guess I've had a good inings

So great that it works four you. I hope that it works four me too..
I tried enbrel at first, it worked four about 6 months and then the effect wasen`t there any more... Took enbrel four 10 months og so... But it took sometime before it started working...So still have hopes four the cimzia..
