I can sort-of answer your question. I take sulph (2 x 3 tablets daily) and I have OA but I was taking sulph for the PsA before that happened and it didn't affect the swelling, that carrie don regardless. I am sure that the swelling I occasionally get is due to the PsA, not the OA. You're a mystery, Val. I think you're an auto-type but what do I know? DD

    Hi Val
I have OA with swellings in quite a num of places on my hands,I have only seen a rheumy once and he was very dismissive, I do think that Arthritis can be such a minefield....sorry Iv not a clue about sulph....
I would write your question down for next time you go, its awful how they leave us wondering.
    Love

Val, have you had x-rays or any scans on your hands? My rheumy told me I didn't have RA in my shoulder but 2 experienced physios (including one on her rheum team) said I do. So, I just nodded my head and silently thought she was wrong. Are your other joints being affected by the sulfa? Might be worth asking to be seen again. Do you have nurses at your clinic?
